    • A building brace and foot assembly is described which prevents unwanted disc connection of the brace from a footing to prevent accidental collapse of a panel secured by the brace. The brace has telescoping sections (34) and (36) and the foot assembly has a foot (30) having a channel (50) in which a bolt embedded in a concrete block is receivable. The foot (30) has a base (44) and upstanding lugs (46) which secure the brace to the foot by a pin (46). A securing tongue (70) has a curved section (74) which is received on a pin (60) of the foot (30) so the tongue (70) can be secured in place and pivotally moved on the pin (60) from a retracted position to a locking position. When a locking position a lock element (86) locates through a hole (82) in the tongue (70) and a lock (88) locks onto the lock section (86). The securing tongue (70) therefore prevents access to the bolt to prevent unwanted disconnection of the bolt and therefore unwanted disconnection of the brace from the footing.

    • A wall bracing system (10, 110) that uses a beam (20) capable of bending to conform to a partially-buckled masonry wall (12) that has buckled inward from external forces, such as hydrostatic pressures to which basement walls are typically exposed. The bracing beam (20) is sufficiently flexible to conform to the partially-buckled wall (12), enabling the bracing system (10, 110) to apply a relatively uniform pressure against the wall (12) to prevent further inward movement. One end of the beam (20) is secured to the basement floor (14) adjacent the wall (12), generally not more than the distance the wall (12) has bowed inward, i.e., the horizontal displacement of the primary fracture point (42) of the wall (12). The upper end of the beam (20) is held in place with a bracket system (24) secured to one or more overhead floor joists.

    • The invention relates to a repair method of sanitary facilities of a block of flats, in which the sanitary- facilities (1) to be repaired are disposed on top of each other, i.e. at the same point in all storeys. According to the invention, the load-bearing structures of different storeys (3) that are supported on the walls (2) enclosing the sanitary facilities (1) are supported one upon the other to one another from outside the walls of the sanitary facilities; the sanitary facilities are cut off from the rest of the structure of the block of flats from between the supporting points and the walls of the sanitary facilities; the sanitary facilities are removed completely; new self-supporting sanitary facility elements (7) are dropped from above down into the pit thus formed and stacked one upon the other; the load-bearing structures of different storeys are connected to the sanitary facilities disposed at a corresponding height; and the supports (4) disposed in different storeys are removed .
