    • A hybrid atmospheric water generator (HAWG) utilizing, in certain embodiments, a core atmospheric water generator (105) and a preconditioning unit (110) to increase humidity of air prior to water condensation. The core atmospheric unit comprises a condensing unit (106) having a water condensing heat exchanger (107) coupled to source of cooling (109). The preconditioning unit (110) includes a heat exchanger (112) and a sorption unit (114) configured to store moisture for release when air is passed through or near the sorption unit (114). The heat exchanger (112) is used to increase the temperature of air moving into or through the preconditioning unit (110) in order to increase the amount of moisture the air is able to store. The preconditioning unit enables the generation of more water per energy unit expended and/or generating water from ambient air under conditions in which traditional atmospheric water generators cannot function.

    • A rotary joint is provided. The rotary joint includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a stator housing, a first wireless communication platform device having a first wireless communication module connected to a plurality of data signal lines of the stator and at least one power line of the stator, and a first antenna. The rotor is configured to be actuated in a rotational manner relative to the stator, and the rotor includes a rotor housing, a second wireless communication platform device comprising a second wireless communication module connected to a plurality of data signal lines of the rotor and at least one power line of the rotor, and a second antenna. The first wireless communication platform device and the second wireless communication platform device are configured to communicate operational data with one another via the first and second antennas.

    • A rotatable door latch for a door hingedly attached the housing of a device, configured to close over an installed cassette against a front panel of the housing, and capture the head of a post mounted to the housing. After capturing the head of the post and rotating the door latch, a slot in the latch has a cam or ramp feature slides against the post head, the ramp increasing in thickness to increase the closing force between the door and the post head. A detent at the end of the slot provides a maintenance closing force between the door and the post head. The thickness of at least a portion of the detent is less than the terminal thickness of the ramp, so that a release force needed to move the detent off the post head is greater than the maintenance force between the detent and the post head.
