    • The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for three-dimensionally shaping a flat fiber material using a compression-drawing process, wherein partial processing devices (6, 8, 9, 10) operate continuously and are arranged relative to one another in such a way that the piece (15) being shaped and the precursor pieces (11, 13) thereof move at substantially the same process speed when being processed and between the individual partial processing devices (6, 8, 9, 10). The invention also relates to a compression-drawing unit (20') in which a blank holder (23) comprises a device (100) for movingly guiding the blank holder (23) parallel to an axis extending in the direction of travel of the blank holder (23), the guiding and moving being in relation to a frame (108); the device (100) for guiding the blank holder (23) is at least partially concentric to the direction in which the punch (21) is guided; a punch drive (110) is provided for moving the punch (21) from a rest position into a drawing die (22) located in a lower plane of the frame (108), and a single blank holder drive (112) is provided for moving the blank holder (23) between a rest position and the lower plane of the frame (108); the punch drive (110) and the blank holder drive (112) are disposed on the frame (108).

    • A multi-function media embellishing die and a system and method of embellishing media with the die is provided. The die includes a body having a media abutment surface, a die blade extending from the media abutment surface and a punch element having a protruding member extending from the media abutment surface and terminating in a substantially flat raised surface. The cut edge and the substantially flat raised surface can be disposed about the same height above the media abutment surface. The media embellishing die can include an embossing element having a protruding member extending from the media abutment surface and terminating in a substantially flat raised surface disposed at about the same height above the media abutment surface as the cut edge. A system for embellishing media includes the die and a press for pressing media against the die to embellish the media.
