    • Body containment constructions, materials, and methods of use for bio-cremation processes are disclosed. Preferably, the containment constructions of the present invention provide the functionality of liquid containment and also the functionality of body presentment for viewing purposes, if desired, in addition to bio-degradability. Advantageously, liquid containment is provided in a body containment construction that is sufficiently liquid impervious, allows for body transport by sufficient structural support, and is decomposable within the time period for a bio-cremation process. More preferably, the containment construction will dissolve or decompose within a normal procedural time period without leaving any component remaining from the containment construction. According to an aspect of the present invention, a body containment bag is provided that is made from a structural material that is combined with a liquid containment material and one or more closures, wherein the body containment bag is effectively usable for bio-cremation during which all components of the body containment bag can effectively decompose by alkaline hydrolysis. Methods of making and of utilizing a body containment bag for decomposition are also disclosed.

    • The present invention relates to a body bag. In a preferred embodiment, the body bag comprises a plane member having an elongated portion (20) with two widths and two lengths, a rectangular-shaped flap portion (22) connected to a length of said elongated portion (20), a rounded arched portion (24) connected to each width of said elongated portion (20), an outer surface (26), an inner surface (28), curved corners and peripheral side edges; and a re-closable closure means (32) connected to the peripheral side edges of the plane member. The plane member is made of a flexible sheet material. In use, the corpse is placed on to the inner surface (28) of the elongated portion (20) of the laid opened body bag, then each rounded arch portion (24) is maneuvered together with the flap portion (22) to cover the corpse, and the closure means (32) is operated to close the body bag to contain the corpse. Advantageously, the flexible construction allows the rounded arch portion (24) to be flexed to a generally perpendicular position in relation to the elongated portion (20) thereby increasing the volume enclosed by the body bag.

    • A hazardous material containment bag and bag system for handling and transporting contaminated material or human remains is provided. The bag has a multi-layered structure that minimizes contamination by a chemical, biological, radiological and/or toxicological agent. The bag has an absorbent and/or adsorbent layer, which will help keep any hazardous components dissolved in bodily fluids immobilized inside the bag. The bag also has an active agent in at least one layer individually selected to neutralize or trap more than one type of contaminant. A bag system is also provided having an inner bag and a separate outer bag with the inner bag being a multi-layered structure having an absorbent material, which will help immobilize hazardous liquid, bodily fluids, and/or gases emanating from a contaminant enclosed in the inner bag. A method for using the hazardous material containment bag and bag system is also provided.
