    • An arm sling assembly (10) for supporting at least one of the arms of a patient in an angled orientation against the torso includes a sleeveless vest (12) being dimensioned to be worn on the torso of the patient. The vest is openable at the front to facilitate donning of the assembly. Moreover, attached to the one or both of the front portions (20, 22) of the vest (12) is an arm support cuff (14). In particular, the support cuff (14) is stitched to the front left or right portion of the vest (12) along vertically spaced upper and lower attachment zones (78, 80) and is detached from the front portion between the zones so as to define an open-sided arm passageway (82) in which the arm is inserted and supported. In an alternative embodiment, wherein the arm cuffs (114, 116) are adjustably and removably attached to the vest (112) at the upper attachment zones (120, 122). This embodiment further includes a retaining strap (118) that attaches to the back of the vest and encircles the supported arm(s), the arm support cuffs, and a portion of the torso to securely retain the supported arms against the torso of the patient.

    • A system for relocating dislocated shoulders, providing in-line humeral traction, wherein there is provided an arm isolation component (4) for isolating the elbow area of the arm adjoining the shoulder to which traction is to be applied, the present invention further including a second strap (71) placed about the chest of the patient, under the arm of the afflicted shoulder, for counter-traction. The elbow of the user is flexed to generally about 45 degrees about an isolation member in general contact with the humeral area of the arm, until it contacts the front face of the wedge member (42), wherein it is secured via a second strap. Once counter-traction has been secured via the chest strap, the physician may apply in-line humeral traction via waist strap (76) anchored to the base of the wedge member near the base of the humerus of the patient, and utilizing one, or a combination of a variety of pre-existing reduction techniques, facilitate relocation of the dislocated shoulder.

    • An ankle support (100) is constructed using a molded pad (110) and a rigid shell (112). The pad (110) and the shell (112) may be sealed together to form a bladder-pad cushion for comfort. The internal structure of the pad (110) is molded to include geometrically shaped cells of various size, shape and thickness to provide differing levels of localized comfort to the user of the ankle support (100). The pad may be made from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) which is spring-like and resists compression sets. The pad may include integrally-molded fingers extending to the shell. The fingers may have different lengths in one or more regions, in order to increase the cushioning effect in a particular region. The pad/shell combination may form a sealed bladder, and a pneumatic pump may be provided in conjunction with the shell so that the user can inflate the bladder.
