摘要： Particular embodiments provide supplemental content that may be related to video content that a user is watching. A segment of closed-caption text from closed-captions for the video content is determined. A first set of information from the segment of closed-caption text, such as terms may be extracted. Particular embodiments use an external source that can be determined from a set of external sources. To determine the supplemental content, particular embodiments may extract a second set of information from the external source. Because the external source may be more robust and include more text than the segment of closed-caption text, the second set of information may include terms that better represent the segment of closed-caption text. Particular embodiments thus use the second set of information to determine supplemental content for the video content, and can provide the supplemental content to a user watching the video content.

A parser receives the DTVCC data packets and parses the data packets by: passing normal DTVCC data to a CC decoder; detecting ancillary data in the DTVCC data packets; and separating the ancillary data from the DTVCC data for output to an ancillary data process. An example apparatus that processes DTVCC data has an ancillary data packager that packages data ancillary to DTV data for insertion into the DTVCC data packets. A DTVCC data packager receives CC data from a CC data source into DTVCC data packets and packages the ancillary data together with the DTVCC data into DTVCC data packets. A multiplexer multiplexes the DTVCC data packets from the DTVCC data packager with non-CCDTV data to produce DTV signal data. 摘要： The invention relates to a method of transmitting a series of television programmes and a method of transmitting and receiving a television programme including interactive content, along with associated apparatus. In particular, there is provided a method of broadcasting a series of television programmes, the method comprising repeatedly broadcasting a subsequent group of programmes in the series instead of the previous group of programmes, wherein the subsequent group of programmes includes at least one programme later in the series than the programs in the previously broadcast group, and continuing in the same way in order to broadcast all of the programmes in the series. Consequently, television programmes of a series can be broadcast in groups. This method is particularly suited to broadcasting educational programmes as they provide flexibility in viewing times to encourage viewer participation.
