摘要： A scratch-off instant game card and method of manufacture provides a substrate having a secure area with full colour variable images printed on the secure area comprising information which is variable between cards. The image is printed using a digital printing method capable of printing variable images including the liquid electro-photographic printing method, the toner electro-photographic printing method, the continuous inkjet printing method and the drop on demand inkjet printing method. The substrate for the security area comprises sufficient absorptive qualities to enable a rapid and high level of adhesion of the image to the security area and being sufficiently impenetrable to prevent determination of the contents of the image through the substrate. Two varnish layers and two scratch-off layers cover the graphical image.

摘要： A digital printing system is disclosed having two independently operable printing towers arranged in series such that a substrate sheet passes sequentially through both printing towers, and in which a perfecting mechanism is provided between the two towers to reverse each substrate sheet during transfer from the first printing tower to the second printing tower, the perfecting mechanism being selectively operable to enable the second tower to print either on the same side of each substrate sheet as the first tower or on the opposite side of each substrate sheet. As well as allowing a duplex mode, the system provides a higher speed simplex mode during which different separations of the same image are printed by the two towers.

摘要： An electrophotographic printer is configured to print a three-dimensional texture on a substrate by applying clear toner in locations corresponding to where texture is desired. The clear toner for texture may be applied either after, or before, other colors (e.g., CMYK) are applied to the substrate. The clear toner may be applied during the same pass as the other colors in an electrophotographic printer having five imaging units (20C, 20M, 20Y, 20K, and 20X). Alternatively, the clear toner may be applied during a second pass of the substrate through the electrophotographic printer if, on the first pass, all five imaging units are occupied with different colored toners. An electrophotographic printing system that includes a front-end station for scanning a document coupled to an electrophotographic printer allows an operator to add texture to a scanned document.

摘要： A document copier (1), having a copier operation that includes image editing for inputting data of a production run, which data both specifies special features and defines areas (P1 and P2) of an original document (56) for treatment by the special features. An interrupt mode interrupts the image editing and the image forming so that a job of higher priority can be processed. The special features specifying data and the area defining data of a production run are stored only for areas which are completely defined at the time of interrupt of the copier operation. The higher priority job is limited to a single image frame such that duplex copies and multi-color copies which require more than one image frame to produce are excluded. A job image buffer (9) capable of holding a predetermined amount of data is provided. The interrupt operation is disabled when there is insufficient space in the job image buffer for storing the data for the higher priority job. Data for the higher priority job is erased from the job image buffer after only one copy is produced, whereby multiple copies of said higher priority job cannot be produced.
