    • The fastening element for frame sections of solar modules comprises a retaining element which can be fastened on or in a mounting rail, and a clamping part which comprises, on the upper face thereof, a dish-shaped bearing for receiving a sliding block, wherein the first end of the clamping part is directly or indirectly supported on the mounting rail, and wherein the second end of the clamping part is designed to press the frame section against the mounting rail. The fastening element further comprises a sliding block which is movably mounted in the dish-shaped bearing, and also a threaded screw which is screwed through corresponding recesses in the sliding block and in the dish-shaped bearing of the clamping part into the retaining element and establishes a connection between the clamping part and the retaining element. The clamping part is designed such the second end thereof presses the frame section of the solar module against the mounting rail and fastens the frame section when the threaded screw is tightened. The application further relates to a fastening system for solar modules, in which a retaining element is maintained in a longitudinal recess of a profiled hollow rail, said retaining element having pivotally mounted expansion jaws at the bottom of the retaining element. The expansion jaws are designed to be inserted into the longitudinal recess of the profiled hollow rail, the expanded expansion jaws blocking the retaining element within the profiled hollow rail when a pulling force is applied to the retaining element.
