摘要： An autonomous dredging underwater device for moving along the bed and suction dredging it, mitigating the environmental impact of its operation which operates in cooperation with a surface support unit, whether floating or on land, which carries out functions such as collecting dredged material, supplying the device electrically and hydraulically, and providing communication means for supervision and/or control which comprises: a) a structural frame (1); b) a drive system (2) with four motorized wheels; c) a dredging unit (3) in which the frame (1) and the drive system (2) constitute a hood around the same to contain the turbidity which is produced during displacement and dredging; d) a concentrator (4); e) a guide system which allows displacement, both remote- controlled by an operator and autonomously according to a predefined route; and f) a flexible tube and associated method.

摘要： Described is a subsurface mining vehicle and a method for collecting mineral deposits from a sea bed at great depths and transporting said deposits to a floating vessel. The vehicle comprises a load-bearing structure having means for advancing the vehicle on the sea bed, and a pick-up unit for the deposits. A lifting frame is also provided and at one end equipped with a connector to connect to a suspension cable provided between the floating vessel and the vehicle. The lifting frame is at another end connected to the load-bearing structure by a hinged connection, that is actuated by actuating means such that the angular position of the load-bearing structure can be fixed in a number of different angular positions relative to the lifting frame while the vehicle is suspended from the suspension means. The lifting frame allows to launch and position the submarine vehicle in a controlled manner.

The entrance opening has a lower lip (20) and an upper lip (22), and the upper lip comprises an extension (22a) projecting forwardly and upwardly relative to the lower lip to form a canopy over the entrance opening. The suction mouth (10) may include a valve (30) on the body downstream of the entrance opening which is operable to selectively provide a further entrance opening into the body. Where such a valve is present, the consistency of the material sucked in can be regulated.

摘要： A method for converting hydrates buried in the water bottom into a marketable hydrocarbon composition comprises: -excavating a hydrate containing slurry from the water bottom (14) by an underwater excavator (1); -inducing a slurry lifting assembly comprising a slurry pump (2) actuated by the tailings stream (8), to lift the slurry through a riser conduit (3) to a floating topsides vessel (7); -separating the slurry in a slurry separation assembly (4) at or near the topsides vessel (7) in to a transportable methane (CH 4 )containing intermediate product and a tailings stream; and -transporting the transportable methane containing intermediate product to a facility in which the intermediate product is converted into a marketable hydrocarbon composition. The use of a hydrate slurry pump (2) actuated by the tailings stream (8) allows to lift the slurry to the topsides vessel (7) in an economic and reliable matter since at least part of the energy and pressure required to lift the hydrate slurry to the water surface (13) is recycled back into the tailings stream (8) returning to the water bottom (14).
