    • A lifting assembly for raising, supporting, and stabilizing a foundation or other weighted member. An anchoring bracket, which is mounted to a piling or pier that has been driven into the ground below the location where the foundation is to be poured, is attached to a jacking assembly. The jacking assembly includes a bottom plate which rests on the upper end of the vertical support column, a hydraulic jack which rests on the bottom plate, and a top plate which is supported by the hydraulic jack. Concrete which will form the foundation is poured into the foundation mold and around the anchoring bracket which rests in said mold. The concrete foundation is allowed to cure. Support rods which are secured to the anchoring bracket and bottom and top plates, transfers the upward force generated by the hydraulic lift, from said top plate to said anchoring bracket, thus lifting the foundation to which the anchoring bracket is integrally attached.

    • An apparatus (10) and a method (30, 40) are provided for lifting and leveling an existing building (100). At least a first non-cylindrical support section (12) having a substantially rectangular shape and first and second ends is located within the earth (7) at a position underneath the existing building (100). A cap support section (13) is placed in contact with the second end of the first non-cylindrical support section (12). A jack (73/74) is disposed on the upper side of the cap support section (13) and raised until the foundation (96) of the existing building (100) has been lifted to a desired height. The non-cylindrical support section (12) has low bearing and high friction characteristics. The low bearing characteristics enable the apparatus (10) to be driven further into the earth (7) than cylindrical pilings that are commonly used to lift and level existing buildings (100). The high friction characteristics assist in maintaining the stability of the apparatus (10) once installed.

    • A method for erecting a tower includes the steps of providing a first pre-cast section of concrete and positioning it atop a foundation. A radially-inwardly extending ledge is attached to an interior wall of the first pre-cast section and a plurality of jacks is positioned below the ledge in circumferentially spaced apart relation to one another. The ledge and the first pre-cast section are raised to a first height by operating jacks in an ascending mode. A second pre-cast section is positioned beneath the first pre-cast section after the first pre-cast section has been lifted to the first height. The first pre-cast section is lowered onto the second pre-cast section by operating the jacks in a descending mode or the second pre-cast section is lifted by operating the jacks in ascending mode. An assembly building that surrounds a base of the tower protects workers from inclement weather.

The floor panels can be leveled, locked together, and then remaining portions of a building structure can be built around the floor panels in a top-down process.
