The device (10) comprises at least one support surface (16, 18) which is used to support a stack of notes. The support surface itself and/or the surface of a pile of notes situated thereon forms a surface which is used to deposit the notes. The device also comprises a roller device comprising a first roller (30) which can be displaced in a transversal manner in relation to the longitudinal axis thereof along an adjusting path which is oriented in a parallel manner with respect to the surface of the pile, and at least one first belt (26) which is guided from above around the first roller and parallel to the stack surface to a first fixing point (28) in the region of one end of the adjusting path whereon it is fixed. The stack surface (16) is pressed from below onto the at least one first belt (26) in order to secure the stack of sheets. The device (10) further comprises a sheet-supply device which is used to transport a sheet comprising one edge to an end of the surface of the stack, whereupon the sheet is rolled in the direction of the other end of said stack surface. The sheet-supply device can be adjusted along the adjusting path between a first position, wherein the device can transport the sheet (80) with the edge (80) to one end of the surface of the stack (24), and at least one other position, wherein the device can guide the sheet (80) with the edge (82) to one end of the other surface of the stack (24) or in a transport device for further transportation of the sheet.

The movable band is configured to move along an orbital path, and a twin roller with first and second portions engages the movable band and folds the movable band into at least two portions. In some cases, the drive mechanism can also include, or be attached to, two additional rollers that are inside the band and move along the orbital path. A stacking device may also include a roller set with first and second portions that press against a band. A mechanism may cause the band to orbit along a path such that it causes the band to receive a stackable item and move it to a predetermined location. At the predetermined location, the band releases the stackable item while continuing to orbit along the path, but while having zero total velocity.

摘要： An apparatus for forming a spread of generally thin, pliable material from a roll (R) onto a table (50) includes a cradle for holding the roll which is selectively operable to rotate the roll for feeding the material generally forwardly from the roll. An endless conveyor including a series of flights spaced at intervals therealong with openings (32) between the flights is driven for forward travel, and the web from the roll is received on and carried forward by a flight in the upper reach of the conveyor. A knife (64) is operable to cut the web to separate a first sheet (SH) from the roll. The first sheet is thereafter held from forward movement with the supporting flight by grippers (70) selectively operable for gripping the first sheet on the supporting flight. Thus, the supporting flight slides out from under the first sheet with the first sheet falling onto the table.
