    • A loader (20) for a conveyorized cooking apparatus (10) having a transverse partition (51) spaced from an endless loading belt (40). The loader may include several longitudinal partitions (52) defining a plurality of dispensing stations (55) for loading hamburger patties (61) and like food items. The transverse partition (50) is spaced above the endless loading belt (40) by a distance slightly greater than the typical thickness of a patty (61) to be cooked. The endless loading belt has at least one tranverse outwardly extending cleat (44). As the loading belt travels, the outwardly extending cleat (44) comes into contact with the lowermost patty through of each stack of patties on the loading belt (40) and pushes the lowermost patty through the space (54) between the transverse partition and the endless loading belt and into the cooking apparatus.
