    • Masonry units, such a blocks, are fabricated in a sequential process, using improved mold structures, such as within a production corridor of a corresponding fabrication system. A compressible masonry feedstock or formulated material, which can be de-agglomerated before use, is filled within a block mold having releasable elements. The feedstock or formulated material is then compressed within the mold structure. The compressed workpiece can be further processed, such as for any of final height adjustment, the establishment of a surface feature, or to remove cores. The block mold, having releasable elements or sides, such as using hinges or springs, is released from the formed block, wherein the formed masonry unit can be removed for curing, and wherein the block mold can be reused to fabricate a subsequent masonry unit.

    • The invention relates to producing building materials, in particular to producing concrete blocks. The aim of said invention is to increase the strength of concrete blocks. The inventive method consists in casting concrete from a hopper into a mould, in vibratory compacting said concrete, in transporting the moulds by means of a conveyor line, in drying the blocks in moulds during the transportation thereof, in cooling the moulds and in extracting the blocks therefrom. The mould is provided with paired cells and embedded bottoms on which a surface pattern is preliminary placed. Said method also consists in simultaneously filling two paired cells of the mould, in forming a first concrete layer, in displacing the mould for one step which is equal to the cell width, in controlling the position of the next pair of cells with respect to the hopper, in sequentially filling all cells of the mould, in vibratory compacting the first layer in the mould, afterwards, in removing the mould from under the first hopper, in applying a heat-insulating layer to the first compacted concrete layer, in piercing the two formed layers by connecting rods by disposing said rods on a vertical plane at different angles, the rod ends being free, in transporting the mould to the second hopper, in dosingly filling said hopper with a concrete portion for each pair of cells, in filling the paired cells of the mould by moving said the mould for a step which is equal to the cell width and in vibratory compacting the second layer.

    • The present invention is concerned with a process for the formation of dental restorations from glass-ceramic materials and the resulting dental restorations. In this invention a dental restoration is prepared by placing a glass ceramic material in a heat-pressure deformable crucible. Heat is then applied to the crucible in order to bring glass-ceramic material to a working range at temperatures above its liquidus temperature. The heat deformation properties of the crucible must be such that when the glass-ceramic material in the crucible is in the working range the crucible is heat-pressure deformable without rupturing. Once the glass-ceramic material is heated to its working temperature the crucible is brought into contact with a mold having a preformed cavity therein, the cavity being in the shape of the desired dental restoration. As the distance between the heated glass ceramic material and the mold is decreased, the crucible is deformed to form a seal with the mold thereby facilitating the injection of the molten glass-ceramic material into the mold cavity. The resulting dental restoration has superior optical esthetic and strength properties. The invention further includes the heat-pressure deformable crucible which is useful in the process of this invention and the related apparatus.
