摘要： A catalytic reactor is disclosed. The catalytic reactor includes one or more nonporous covers configured to cover a portion of each of the plurality of catalyst beds so that when the gas feed flows through the feed inlet into the catalytic reactor, the gas feed does not enter the plurality of catalyst beds at a section of each of the catalyst beds closest to the feed inlet. Instead, the gas feed enters each catalyst bed at another section of each of the catalyst beds.

摘要： A gas-liquid catalyzed reaction is performed by introducing at least a portion of the reactive gas into the catalyst as a cross-flow or radial-flow stream. Introducing at least a portion of the reactive g as as a radial flow stream allows the reactive gas to travel through the catalyst bed along a shorter path length. This reduces the pressure drop for the radial flow portion of the gas. The reactive gas can be introduced into the catalyst bed at various heights relative to the height of the catalyst bed.

摘要： A wire standoff suitable for use in a tubular reactor, such as a reformer, is described. The wire standoff includes a portion or segment positioned between an outer reactor tube and one or more reactor components located within the tube. The reactor components and the outer tube are prevented from coming into directed contact with one another by the positioning of the wire standoff. The wire standoff can be secured to a reactor component at one of its ends or to a washer located between stacked reactor components. Prevention of the reactor components from contact with the outer tube promotes fluid flow through the reactor and can enhance heat transfer and reactor efficiency for carrying out catalytic reactions.
