An example apparatus includes a frame to be worn about a body part of a user and a jamming actuator carried by the frame. The example apparatus includes an electrode to deliver electricity from an electrical source communicatively coupled to the electrode to a muscle of the user. 摘要： Embodiments of a smart mobility aid device may have sensors to collect, monitor, analyze and represent data including but not limited to activity tracking, biometrics and safety and emergency features. The activity tracking include number of steps, miles, and activity speed, user pressure on a device, activity types and analysis. The user biometric data includes but is not limited to blood work, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, oxygen level/rate, ECG, EMG, muscle strain, humidity, UV, body temperature. Additional features include an emergency button, fall detection, warnings, and user pattern analysis changes. The mobility aid device is connected to other smart electronic devices and/or the Internet using but not limited to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and or/and SIM card. The device gives the user or/and caregiver live feedback about user health metrics and status using a data representation method.

摘要： Devices and methods for mobility assistance are disclosed. The disclosed features may assist a person with movement by providing support for the person as the person moves. Further, features for easily storing and transporting items in various compartments of the device are disclosed. Support of the user and/or items may be provided by a lightweight composite structure that further allows for free movement of the user, such as taking full strides while walking or running. The device may further be repeatedly configured between collapsed and deployed configurations via a locking mechanism and an actuatable release. Pivotable joints allow the various sections to be stowed into a smaller, collapsed configuration that is easily carried or otherwise transported, as well as deployed into a larger, deployed configuration for assistance while moving.

The device has an elongate post having an upper end and a lower end with the lower end adapted for contact with the ground and the upper end being secured to a forearm support. The forearm support is generally horizontal and is comprised of a platform and a cuff, wherein the platform and the cuff are engagable with a user's forearm, with the cuff being linearly disposed about a longitudinal axis of the platform to hold the user's forearm so that the arm remains in contact with the platform. An upper arm support extends upwardly from the upper end of the vertical elongate post to engage the upper arm of the user.

摘要： A mobility aid (10) for assisting up/down and translational mobility of a user is disclosed. The aid (10) includes a wheeled base assembly (11) having a front portion which extends in use across in front of a user and leg portions (13) extending rearwardly back from the front portion along opposing sides of the user, and a support member extending upwardly from the base assembly (11). The support member includes a tubular member (14) within which an extensible shaft (15) is received. The extensible shaft (15) moves telescopically with reference to the tubular member (14). An upper body support means comprising a transverse member (19) and left and right hand side upper body support members (20) are mounted on said transverse member (19). Each of the members (20) has a forearm support (22) in the form of an open channel formation and a hand grip (21) in the form of an upwardly projecting handlebar around which the hand grips. The tubular member (14) engages the extensible shaft (15) by means of complementary screw thread formations on respectively the tube (14) and the shaft (15). That way rotation of the shaft (15) relative to the tube (14) effects axial movement of the former relative to the latter. The aid also includes drive means in the form of an electric motor powered by a battery mounted on the base assembly (11) which rotates the extensible shaft (15) to cause raising and lowering of the upper body support members. The aid also includes a lower body support, typically in the form of a flexible and adjustable seat harness for passing around the posterior abdominal region of a user to assist in lifting and lowering a user.
