摘要： A method of a forming a hollow, drug-eluting nitinol stent includes shaping a composite wire (170) into a stent pattern, wherein the composite wire comprises an inner member (120), a nitinol intermediate member (102), and an outer member (130). After the composite wire is shaped into the stent pattern, the composite wire is heat treated to set the nitinol intermediate member in the stent pattern. After heat treatment, the composite wire is processed to remove the outer member and the inner member without adversely affecting the intermediate member. Openings may be provided through the intermediate member and the lumen of the intermediate member may be filled with a substance to be eluted through the openings.

The reservoir can comprise a volume sized to release therapeutic amounts of the therapeutic agent for an extended time when coupled to the porous structure and implanted in a patient. The porous structure may comprise a first side coupled to the reservoir and a second side to couple to the patient to release the therapeutic agent. The length of the channels extending from the fist side to the second side may comprise an effective length greater than a distance across the porous structure from the first side to the second side. The therapeutic device may comprise a penetrable barrier to inject therapeutic agent into the device when implanted in the patient.

摘要： The present invention relates to tubular stents that are implanted within a body lumen to support the organ, maintain patency and/or deliver drugs or agents. The stent (1200) has a cylindrical shape defining a longitudinal axis and includes a helical section (1208) having of a plurality of longitudinally oriented strut members (1213) and a plurality of circumferentially oriented hinge members (1214) connecting circumferentially adjacent strut members to form a band. 摘要： Methods and apparatus are disclosed for loading a therapeutic substance or drug within a lumenal space of a hollow wire having a plurality of side openings along a length thereof that forms a hollow drug-eluting stent with a plurality of side drug delivery openings. Loading a drug within the lumenal space of the hollow stent includes a drug filling step, in which the drug is mixed with a solvent or dispersion medium. The lumenal space may be filled with the drug solution or suspension in a reverse fill process and/or a forward fill process. After the drug filling step, a solvent or dispersion medium extracting step is performed to extract the solvent or dispersion medium from within the lumenal space such that only the drug remains within the hollow stent. A stent cleaning step may be performed to an exterior surface of the hollow stent.
