摘要： Die Erfindung beschreibt eine Protektoreinrichtung zum Schutz der Halswirbelsäule mit einer ersten Dämpfungseinrichtung und mit einer Abstützeinrichtung, wobei die Abstützeinrichtung dazu ausgebildet ist eine, durch einen Kontakt eines Schutzhelms mit einer ersten Kontaktfläche der ersten Dämpfungseinrichtung induzierte, impulsartige Krafteinleitung auf diese erste Dämpfungseinrichtung mittelbar oder unmittelbar gegen den Oberkörper einer Person gedämpft abzustützen, und wobei die erste Dämpfungseinrichtung ausgebildet ist mit einer Umhüllung und einer ersten Kammer in der ein gasförmiges oder flüssiges oder gelartiges erstes Dämpfungsmedium angeordnete ist. Vorzugsweise ist diese Umhüllung im Rahmen des technisch sinnvoll Möglichen in elastisch oder nur geringfügig elastisch ausgebildet. Die Wirkung der Protektoreinrichtung beruht also im Wesentlichen nicht auf der Elastizität der Umhüllung, sondern auf der Dämpfung durch das erste Dämpfungsmedium.

The elements (12) are free to move relative to one another, when the tether (18) is not under tension, so that the ring (14) is flexile and can be fitted around the neck, but the elements (12) are drawn into abutting relationship to form a stiff ring (14), when the tether (18) is under tension.
