    • An electrical connector assembly for mechanically and electrically connecting first and second cables each including an elongate electrical conductor covered by an insulation layer includes a housing, an electrically conductive bus member, an electrically conductive first blade member, and an electrically conductive second blade member. The housing is configured to receive each of the first and second cables. The bus member is disposed in the housing. The first blade member is disposed in the housing and has an inner end, an outer end and an insulation piercing feature on the outer end. The inner end is coupled to the bus member and the insulation piercing feature includes at least one tooth configured to pierce through the insulation cover of the first cable and electrically engage the conductor of the first cable. The second blade member is disposed in the housing and has an inner end, an outer end and an insulation piercing feature on the outer end. The inner end is coupled to the bus member and the insulation piercing feature includes at least one tooth configured to pierce through the insulation cover of the second cable and electrically engage the conductor of the second cable. The bus member provides electrical continuity between the first and second blade members and thereby the conductors of the first and second cables when the conductors are engaged by the insulation piercing feature of the first and second blade members.

    • A wedge connector (10) for mechanically securing two electrical cables (66) and making them electrically common is disclosed. The wedge connector (10) has a C-shaped body member (12) and a wedge (14). The body member (12) has sides (16) that converge toward a first body member end (24) from a second body member end (28). The body member (12) has edges (32) that are formed to define a pair of inwardly facing channels (34) connected by a web (38) extending between the channels (34). The wedge (14) also has converging sides (20) to be conformably received in the C-shaped body member (12). The wedge (14) has concave, outwardly facing surfaces ('54) on each side (20) connected by a web (58) extending between the sides. It also has a spring rib (50) formed in the web (58) that extends continuously from a first wedge end (26) toward a second wedge end (30).

    • An electrical connector (12) is provided for power conductors including a main conductor and a tap conductor. The assembly includes an upper conductive member (18) having an upper tap conductor arm (26) configured to engage the tap conductor and an upper main conductor arm (28) configured to engage the main conductor. Each of the upper tap conductor arm (26) and the upper main conductor arm (28) includes a deflectable spring. The electrical connector (12) also includes a lower conductive member (20) separately fabricated from the upper conductive member (18). The lower conductive member (20) includes a lower tap conductor arm (32) configured to engage the tap conductor and a lower main conductor arm (34) configured to engage the main conductor. Each of the lower tap conductor arm (32) and the lower main conductor arm (34) includes a deflectable spring. The upper and lower main conductor arms oppose each other and are configured to clamp the main conductor therebetween.
