    • A pulse generator comprises a stator coupled to a housing and a rotor that is rotatably disposed within the housing. An annulus is formed between the rotor and the stator. An inner bore is formed through the rotor. One or more outer flow ports provide fluid communication between the annulus and the inner bore. A retrievable valve assembly is rotationally coupled to the rotor and at least partially disposed within the inner bore. The retrievable valve assembly includes a rotary valve member having one or more primary flow ports. A fluid flow path is periodically formed by the one or more outer flow ports, the annulus, and the one or more primary flow ports as the rotor rotates.

    • A planetary gear box or drive (48) and arrangement of the gear box with a drive motor permits electrical, optical or other types of cabling or wiring to be passed through the planetary gear box along its axis of rotation. The planetary gear box drives or rotates, for example, a reel of coiled tubing (30). Electrical, hydraulic, optical and other types of line for lowering into a well bore through the coiled tubing is passed through a passageway through the center of the planetary gear box, into one end of a hub of the reel, and then into the coiled tubing, which is injected into the wellbore. The other end of the hub of the reel is able to be connected to a swivel joint that can be connected to a pump for pumping fluid into the coiled tubing.

    • A system (100) for measuring drilling fluid properties includes a capillary rheometer (134) that is adapted to measure viscosity parameters of drilling fluid. The capillary rheometer (134) includes a feed chamber (135), the feed chamber (135) having a cavity (135a, 135b), at least a first drain port (144) for draining fluid out of the cavity (135a, 135b), a double wall (136) defining an annulus (140) that opens to the cavity (135a, 135b), and a feed port (142) in an outer portion (136a) of the double wall (136) that is in fluid communication with the annulus (140). The capillary rheometer (134) also includes at least a first capillary tube (146) coupled to at least the first drain port (144). Additionally, the disclosed system (100) further includes a pump (102) that is adapted to pump fluid to the feed port (142).

    • A blowout preventer unit, system and method for monitoring a blowout preventer at a wellsite is provided. The blowout preventer is activatable form a seal to prevent leakage of the fluid produced from subsurface formations. The blowout preventer unit includes wellsite databases, at least one control unit and blowout preventer outputs. The wellsite databases are operatively connectable to the wellsite to receive wellsite data therefrom, and have communication links therebetween. The control unit is operatively connectable to the wellsite databases to selectively divert the wellsite data therebetween via the communication links. The at least one control unit includes a processor to determine blowout preventer parameters from the diverted wellsite data. The blowout preventer outputs are operatively coupled to the wellsite databases, and are accessible by users. The blowout preventer outputs include blowout preventer dashboards to selectively display the blowout preventer parameters whereby blowout preventer conditions are viewable by the users.

The piston is operatively connectable with the ram and movable therewith. The monitor includes a monitor base operatively connectable to the cylinder (the monitor base having an interior side inside the cylinder and an exterior side outside the cylinder), an interior plate positionable inside the cylinder about the interior side of the base (the interior plate operatively connectable to the piston and movable therewith), an exterior plate positionable outside the cylinder about the exterior surface of the monitor base (the exterior plate coupled by magnets to the interior plate and rotatable therewith), and a trigger sensor operatively connectable about the monitor base and the exterior plate to detect rotation thereof whereby a position of the ram may be determined.
