    • A slurry operation device with a monitoring system for detecting interior wear is disclosed. The slurry operation device is used to transfer or process solid material in a fluid, and has an enclosing cross-section. According to the invention the slurry operation device includes an interior wear layer (1) having an inner surface, adapted for contact with solid material in a fluid, and an outer surface; a support structure (3, 4, 5) wound, woven or braided about the outer surface; and an exterior cover layer (6) being disposed over the support structure. The monitoring system includes at least one moisture sensor (9) arranged to detect moisture in or at the support structure; and communication means (20) coupled to the moisture sensor for providing a signal representative of moisture detection in or at the support structure. A slurry operation plant including at least one slurry operation device according to above is also disclosed, as well as a method for installing the monitoring system for detecting interior wear of a slurry operation device.
