    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for the manufacture of a roof structure for a building. The apparatus is in the form of a platform characterised by an elevated work surface above which a ceiling of said roof structure is adapted to be laid. The surface includes a plurality of apertures located at predetermined locations on said surface according to the locations of utility supply destinations inside said building, whereby each surface aperture acts as a guide hole for forming correspondingly located apertures in said ceiling. In this way, the roof can be wired up by placing utility supply means into apertures corresponding with utility supply destinations inside said building. The present invention also provides a method for manufacturing the roof structure using the platform.

    • The present invention relates to a roof structure for a transportable building. The roof structure includes a frame adapted to house the building utility supply means, and a ceiling having a plurality of apertures located at predetermined positions according to the location of utility supply destinations inside the transportable building. Therefore, each aperture is adapted to receive utility supply means in the form of cables and conduits which correspond with the particular supply destination for which the aperture is designated. Therefore, the roof structure is pre-wired prior to construction, resulting in significant time and cost savings during commissioning and decommissioning of portable camps having a plurality of such transportable buildings.

Portable camps typically include a plurality of such buildings aligned longitudinally in a transversely opposed and spaced apart arrangement. The verandah system (10) of the present invention is adapted to provide shelter to the area (32) between the transversely opposed buildings. The present invention further provides for a structurally robust verandah system in that it is tensioned both longitudinally and transversely across a plurality of buildings, and is further easily assembled and disassembled which is advantageous in situations where camps must be shifted on a regular basis, such as during the construction of pipelines across a large distance.

    • The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for the treatment of sewage and, more particularly, to a transportable sewage treatment unit for converting raw sewage into reclaimed water through various stages of treatment. The apparatus provides a number of advantages over known systems in that it is configured to be a truly portable unit suitable for use in camps and the like and is able to produce all classes of reclaimed water. Further, all aspects of the system are controllable, in particular the variable flow of sewage therethrough and the recycling of sludge. This level of control ensures that uniformity within the system may be maintained. In fact, the continuous recycling of effluent as proposed in the present invention ensures that no suspended solids are present in the effluent, very low nutrients such as nitrates and the like remain in the water, and in terms of control, the system allows for improved effluent management.

    • The present invention relates to a free-standing verandah (10) which is adapted for particular use in a portable camp comprising a plurality of buildings. The free-standing verandahs are typically used to provide shelter to walkways which extend from the primary living quarters of the camp to other areas of the camp. Spaced apart on opposed side of the walkway are a plurality of upright support posts (12) which each include two sections, a first section (24) having an auger portion adapted to be fixed into the ground by rotatable drive means and a second section (22) being visible post of the verandah, adapted to be fixedly attached to the first section so that it is maintained and supported in an upright configuration to thereby support the verandah shelter extending thereabove. Thus, in the case of portable camps which are commissioned and decommissioned on a regular basis, a structurally sound free-standing verandah may be assembled in accordance with the present invention in a minimum amount of time and with minimum effort, and furthermore, each of the upright support posts may be reused. This is advantageous in situations where camps must be shifted on a regular basis, such as during the construction of pipelines across a large distance.
