    • A dispenser (20) with a lid laminate (10) providing controlled release of a volatile material contained in a tray is disclosed. The lid (10) includes a vapor impermeable, removable outer laminate (16) and a vapor permeable inner layer (18) covering an open side of the tray. The outer laminate (16) includes layers of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and aluminum foil (14) removably adhered to the inner layer of biaxially-oriented polypropylene (OPP) (18) by an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer. Bottom (28) and side walls (30) of the tray are constructed of a metal/polymer pressure-formed colored tray laminate impermeable to the vapors and volatile material. The tray has a peripheral lip (24) with an outer surface of cast polypropylene to which the vapor permeable inner layer of the lid is heat sealed.

    • A seal coated plastic container (1) for dispensing a pressurized product such as an aerosol or pressurized liquid, gel, or foam. The seal coating (35) is applied to the exterior surface of the plastic container and effectively inhibits migration of non-liquefiable gas propellants and oxygen through the walls of the container. The plastic bottle is composed of a gas permeable polymeric material such as a polyolefin, polyester, or nylon or polycarbonate, and the seal coating is composed of at least one layer of a barrier material which has a low permeability to the non-liquefiable gas used as the propellant, i.e., the seal coating exhibits a high resistance to the passage of the non-liquefiable gas therethrough. The preferred polymeric material for the plastic bottle is polyethylene terephthalate, and the preferred seal coating is an epoxy-amine. The seal coating provides a coating of the barrier material that is about 0.005 to about 0.025 mm thick, but yet can greatly extend the shelf life of pressurized products such as an aerosol.

    • A pressure resistant plastic bottle for containing and dispensing an aerosol composition. The plastic bottle is comprised of a hollow elongate body having a longitudinal axis and an outer wall. The outer wall defines a central portion, a top portion and an opposite bottom portion with the central portion having a circular cross-sectional configuration taken through a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and having an inwardly concave configuration extending along its longitudinal direction. The bottom portion of the elongate body is integral with the central portion and defines an outwardly projecting convexly shaped configuration. The top portion of the bottle is integral with the central portion and has an outwardly convex configuration extending along its longitudinal direction and defines a neck having an opening for receiving and dispensing the aerosol composition. A closure covers the opening and is sealingly attached to the neck to contain the aerosol within the plastic bottle. A cap assembly includes a cap member that provides a planar support surface so that the plastic bottle may stand upright when stored and a depending skirt which is releasably mounted to the top portion of the plastic bottle with a snap-fit arrangement.
