摘要： Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for managing resources for cooperative uplink transmission. A base station may determine different goups for a plurality of user equipments (UEs) participating in cooperative uplink transmission, and transmit mode configurations indicating whether or not UEs in each group are configured to transmit data as a data source or to relay data received from another UE configured to transmit data as a data source. A UE may participate, with one or more other UEs, in cooperative uplink transmission to the base station, wherein each UE belongs to a group. The UE may determine, for a transmission time interval (TTI), at least one operation to perform for the cooperative uplink transmission based, at least in part, on a group number of a group to which the UE belongs and an index of the TTI.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for a control channel power allocation in a communication system are disclosed. The method of control channel power allocation in an embodiment includes sorting a plurality of access terminals in an order of increasing required medium access control (MAC) channel power into a plurality of bins, sorting the access terminals with equal required MAC channel power in an order of decreasing forward link signal to interference and noise ratio (FL SINR) if two or more access terminals have equal required MAC channel power, and determining total available ARQ power based upon total MAC channel power, total power allocated to reverse power control (RPC) channels, and total power allocated to reverse activity bit (RAB) channels.

摘要： A method and apparatus for determining the data rate of a reverse link communication of an access terminal includes receiving a reverse activity bit (RAB) from an access network in the communication system, and passing the RAB to multiple digital filters to produce filtered RABs. The reverse link data rate is determined based on these filtered values of the RABs. From the filtered RAB values a continuous fluid power level is determined for each rate update. The access terminal maps the continuous fluid power level to actual physical transmissions by dithering among discrete power levels allowed by the physical layer.

The management may comprise, for example, monitoring the medium for first RAT signaling in accordance with a first RAT; determining a utilization metric associated with utilization of the medium by the first RAT signaling; cycling operation in accordance with a second RAT between activated periods and deactivated periods of communication over the medium in accordance with a Time Division Multiple Access (TDM) communication pattern based on the utilization metric; and periodically disabling the cycling to provide an AOS period of activated communication over the medium for operation in accordance with the second RAT, with the AOS period being longer than an individual activated period of the TDM communication pattern. The management may also comprise, for example, techniques for enabling / disabling monitoring by an access terminal in accordance with the TDM communication pattern.

摘要： A data-optimized communication system provides support for legacy access terminals, such as access terminals operating under the 1xEV-DO standard. The system also supports multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications with access terminals configured to support MIMO. A number of MIMO spatial signatures are predefined or negotiated. MIMO rank and an identifier of the spatial signature determined at the MIMO access terminal are sent on the I-Branch and Q-Branch of the existing 1xEV-DO structure. In one embodiment, 1-bit rank and 3-bit spatial signature are transmitted through the I-Branch as a 4-bit symbol, replacing the data rate control (DRC) channel. In another embodiment, a 4-bit spatial signature is transmitted through the I-Branch, also replacing the DRC channel. A 2-bit rank is transmitted together with a 4-bit DRC channel through the Q-Branch. The 2-bit rank and the DRC channel can be distinguished because they are sent using different orthogonal codeword Walsh covers.

A first layer pilot for a single layer transmission is repeated across subbands in a first OFDM symbol and the first layer pilot is also repeated offset from the first OFDM symbol in an adjacent second OFDM symbol. The small cell performs a channel scan of available channels, determines whether or not there is a clean channel to be the operating channel for the cellular network based on the channel scan, wherein a clean channel comprises a channel that interferes with the WLAN less than a WLAN interference threshold, and selects the clean channel as the operating channel for the cellular network based on the clean channel being available or turns off the cellular network based on no clean channel being available.
