The dispenser includes a fluid flow control assembly that precisely controls the flow of the medicament solution to the patient and embodies a collapsible drug container that can be filled in the field with the beneficial agents to be delivered to the patient. The unit-dose fluid dispenser of the invention is presented in a sterile and aseptic manner, where the drug has been pre-filled in the system, so that the practitioner cannot mistakenly give the wrong drug to the patient. The dispenser uniquely provides a more efficient medicament delivery system for procedure rooms, such as the endoscopy center, so that a greater number of patients can be treated per day at a higher standard of care with increased profits for the healthcare provider.

摘要： A compact fluid dispenser for use in controllably dispensing fluid medicaments, such as antibiotics, analgesics, and the like medicinal agents from the reservoir of the device. Uniquely, the dispenser includes a novel bellows-type reservoir and vial fill means for filling the bellows-type reservoir with the medicament to be dispensed. The dispenser also includes a novel stored energy source in the form of a constant force spring which controllably urges the medicinal fluid from the device reservoir. Additionally, the apparatus of the invention includes a novel adjustable flow rate control assembly that is disposed intermediate the fluid reservoir outlet and the outlet port of the device for precisely controlling the rate of fluid flow from the outlet port toward the patient. The rate control assembly includes a rate selector member for selecting the desired rate of fluid flow toward the patient and a cooperatively associated flow control plate having a plurality of fluidic micro-channels which controls the rate of fluid flow toward the selector member. The rate control plate uniquely includes a priming feature for priming the various fluid passageways of the device and purging the fluid passageways of gases that may be contained therein prior to the delivery of the medicinal fluids to the administration line of the device.

摘要： Dispensing device for dispensing medicaments to a patient includes a housing, a first assembly connected to the first end of the housing, a body portion, a penetrating subassembly. First assembly includes a rate control chip connected to the penetrating sub-assembly to control the flow rate of medicinal fluid to the patient. Within the housing is a second assembly, a shuttle, a collapsible container carried by the shuttle and a plurality of variable force springs to thrust the collapsible container into penetrating engagement with the penetrating member and to collapse the collapsible container to deliver the medicinal fluid.
