    • The present invention relates to a method for preparing N-substituted maleimides, and more specifically a method for preparing N-substituted maleimides, wherein unlike the existing methods wherein N-substituted maleinamide acid is prepared before N-substituted maleimides are prepared, and an organic solvent, acid catalyst, dehydration cocatalyst and stabilization agent are introduced into a reactor without separately preparing a N-substituted maleinamide acid. A primary amine is then introduced to form an amine salt, maleic acid anhydride is introduced to perform the reactions of dehydrogenation and ring closure and the water thus formed is subject to azeotropic distillation with an organic solvent so as to prepare N-substituted maleimides at high purity and high yield by effectively suppressing the formation of a maleimide polymer. In particular, the present invention has advantages that include a streamlined process, high yields, minimized side reactions, exclusion of the introduction of expensive raw materials, exclusion of a cumbersome reactant solution treatment, and significant reduction in the time required for introducing raw materials and maleic acid anhydride.
