摘要： A stand mixer (10) comprises a head unit (50) having a lower surface presenting, in operation, a downwardly-facing drive outlet for driving in rotation at least one tool suspended therefrom. The head unit is supported with the downwardly-facing drive outlet above a receiving location (30) for a mixing bowl (40). Driving means, including an electric motor (70) and associated transmission means for conveying rotary drive to the drive outlet, are provided. The mixer further comprises first (80) and second (90) coaxial driving outlets presented on an upper surface (52) of the head unit (50); the coaxial outlets (80, 90) run at different speeds and are driven from the motor (70) by means of an epicyclic gearbox (100). The motor (70) is housed in the support means (60) with its drive shaft (72) in substantial alignment with the coaxial drive outlets (80, 90).

摘要： This invention relates to food processing plates and to food processors employing such plates, and it addresses in particular a problem whereby, in use of a food processing plate (50) which is rotated closely proximate the underside of the lid (21) of a food processor bowl (20), foodstuffs which, having been processed by the plate (50) and dropped into the bowl (20), tend to preferentially collect and pile up in specific areas of the bowl (20); usually directly underneath a feed tube (23) through which foodstuffs are introduced into the processor (10). The resulting, highly localised build-up of foodstuffs can cause pressure to the underside of the plate (50), as well as limiting the capacity of the bowl (20). This problem is solved by providing the underside (54) of the plate (50) with at least one protrusion (55) which depends downwardly into the bowl and is configured and located to re-distribute, by contact, comminuted foodstuffs piled up in the bowl (20). The invention also encompasses a food processor (10) incorporating such a plate (50).

摘要： A mechanical safety system comprises a detent member (26), associated with an attachment (10) and comprising a tubular collar arranged coaxially with the drive axis. The collar (26) is capable of bidirectional movement along the axis, between first and second positions and is arranged so that, in the first position, it physically prevents the processing tool (12, 14) of an attachment (10) from being driven by the appliance. The collar (26) is urged towards the first position, and is locked thereat so long as a container (16), forming part of the attachment (10), remains open. When the container (16) is closed, safely enclosing the tool (12, 14), the system responds to such closure by freeing the collar (26) for movement towards the second position, thus allowing the tool (12, 14) to be driven by the appliance. The invention also provides an attachment (10), for an electrically powered kitchen appliance, incorporating such a safety system.

摘要： An electrically driven kitchen machine (22), such as a stand mixer, has a rotary drive outlet (24) which can be used to drive an attachment (10) such as a food mincer. The attachment is temporarily securable to the machine by relative manual rotation, using a fixing, such as a bayonet fixing (26, 28, 30), having co-operative components, carried by the attachment and the machine, which are engaged in order to allow the attachment to pick up the rotary drive from the outlet (24). In order to prevent accidental detachment of the attachment (10) from the machine (22), should it be necessary to reverse the direction of the rotary drive applied to the outlet (24) in response to a tendency of the drive to stall, the machine (22) further comprises one or more locking pins (20) for automatically locking the components of the bayonet fixing (26, 28, 30) in their engaged condition. A manually operable release (32) is provided for disabling the locking pin or pins (20) in order to permit deliberate removal of the attachment (10) from the machine (22).

By this means, the aforementioned abrupt stopping of the head part (50) is countered, since the damper (90) opposes the powerful resilient urge provided by the spring (80).

A trapping member (110 , 130), which is mobile between two positions along the motor’s axis of rotation, but which cannot rotate, traps or releases the detent member, depending upon the trapping member’s position. The trapping member (110 . 130) is moved into the position at which the detent member (30 , 50) is released only when a container (110) is correctly inserted into place to contain the implement. The invention also provides an electrically powered kitchen appliance incorporating such a safety system.
