    • A TDD radio unit and a real-time RX supervision method used therein are provided. The method comprises steps of : setting the radio unit into an RX supervision status in a TX timeslot, wherein the setting comprises : connecting a TX observation module in the radio unit to a termination port of a Transmit/Receive (TR) switch in the radio unit; and setting all components in the RX path in a power-on status; detecting a gain of the TX observation module by means of a signal from the TR switch passing through the TX observation module and a gain of the RX path by means of a TX leakage signal passing through the RX path; calculating a gain difference between the TX observation module and the RX path; and comparing the calculated gain difference with a preset gain difference to determine a state of the RX path. With the TDD radio unit and RX supervision method, the TX leakage signal is used, and thus no extra simulation source is need. Furthermore, a real time supervision is performed.

    • An Ethernet ring includes a plurality of participating nodes with adjacent ones of the nodes coupled together via an independent link. At least two of the nodes are ERP protocol compliant and at least one of the nodes is ERP non-compliant node. Failures in the Ethernet ring are mitigated by determining whether a failure detected at a ring port of one of the ERP compliant nodes is a direct failure on the link coupling the ring port to an adjacent one of the nodes or at the adjacent node, or is an indirect failure on another link or at one of the ERP noncompliant nodes. The ring port is blocked if the failure is determined to be direct so that communication at the ring port remains unblocked if the failure is determined to be indirect. An indication is provided for indicating whether the ring port is blocked or unblocked in response to the failure.

    • The present invention discloses a method for determining a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) in downlink period of a radio communication, comprising: coupling a forward signal into a Transmitter Observation Receiver (TOR) via a Radio Frequency (RF) switch; feeding a reversed signal in a reversed path from a third port of a circulator into the TOR via the RF switch; making down conversion, filtering and converting the forward signal and the reversed signal from an analog signal into digital baseband signal respectively; measuring and storing power levels of the forward signal and the reversed signal in form of digital baseband; and calculating VSWR or Return Loss (RL) value from the stored power levels of the forward signal and the reversed signal. A corresponding apparatus and radio communication system are also provided. This provides an improved VSWR detection method with low complexity and low cost, etc.
