摘要： A fabric cover system (10) which can be used to cover tanks (40), silos, and other containers having an open top. The cover system (10) includes a rigid framework (20) which is attached to the walls (44) of the tank (40), etc., and fabric (30) is laced to the rigid framework (20), under tension, so as to resist snow and wind loads. Access manholes (42) are provided in the fabric cover (30) for inspection and/or ingress/egress of personnel. The resulting cover system (10) can maintain a slight negative (vacuum) pressure in the space between liquid level in the container and the cover. Known fabric techniques including sewings, heat sealing, inclusion of zippers and other fasteners can be employed to manufacture fabric covers for various sized and shaped tanks.

摘要： Rigidifiable composites are formed by stitching a reinforced B-stage resin sheet stock to form a three-dimensional preform (20). The preform (20) is subsequently rigidified by initiating final cure of the resin. Molded articles, inflatable and other structures, such as, tank, tunnel, and sewer liners are some of the typical structures which can be formed by the methods of the invention. Control of thread count, thread tension and thread spacing can be used to consolidate multi-ply or layered preforms, which, upon cure, can have up to 90 % of the load carrying capacity of compression molded fiber reinforced articles.

摘要： A device (16) for stopping leaks in the sidewall of a container (10) such as a 50-55 gallon drum comprising a band of flexible but non-elastic plastic material for manually wrapping around the drum so that a central portion of the band is centered over the leak. An integral inflatable bladder (13) on the inner surface of the central portion is inflatable by a CO2 cartridge (32) carried on the outer surface of the central portion. A lanyard (34) runs from a CO2 release valve (30) to one end of the band so that an installer can stand behind the drum while pulling the lanyard to inflate the bladder.
