    • Pipe separator (1) provided with a casing (2) having an inlet connection (13) and a discharge connection (14), as well as with an element (37) provided in the casing (2) and movable between first and second end positions. The element (37) has a channel (49) going from an inlet opening (55) to an outlet opening (56) and a surface (40') which may be impacted by the pressure of the inlet connection (13). A spring (46) acts on the element (37) in the opposite direction to the action of the inlet pressure. In the first end position of the element (47), the channel (49) forms a link between the inlet connection (13) and the discharge connection (14); in the second end position of the element (37), said element separates the inlet connection (13) from the discharge connection (14). The inlet opening (55) has an intersection straight line which is parallel to that of the outlet opening (56). The volume ventilated by the displacement of the element (37) may be kept as small as possible by effecting the displacement of said element (37) according to a direction parallel to the intersection lines (95, 96).
