摘要： A method immobilizing molecules on the surface of a semiconductor oxide substrate by forming stable bonds with hydrazine bound to the surface is disclosed. Also disclosed is a FET sensor for sensing target molecules in a solution. The FET is modified with molecular probes immobilized on the sensor surface via hydrazone bonds. The immobilized molecular probes are available to bind target molecules present in a solution and the FET will respond to the binding event.

摘要： A non-radioactive method of detecting a ligand and antiligand complex labelled with alkaline phosphatase or a tracer having alkaline phosphatase conjugated thereto comprises reacting the complex with bromo-chloro-indolyl phosphate (BCIP), phenazine methosulfate (PMS) and dimethylthiazol diphenyl tetrazolium (MTT) and allowing the reaction to proceed to produce a colored formazan or a color change indicative of the presence of the labelled complex. A solution or composition of bromo-chloro-indolyl phosphate (BCIP), phenazine methosulfate (PMS) and dimethylthiazol diphenyl tetrazolium (MTT), as well as a test kit including the same, is also provided for carrying out the chromogenic method of detection.

摘要： A video camera and computer system for detecting events comprising: a processor in communication with a plurality of sensors and a camera over a communications network. The processor receives multiple data streams from the sensors, analyses the received data streams to detect an event and sends a trigger to the camera to capture video footage when an event is detected. Upon an event or alert, the processor: generates an event description associated with the detected event based on the data streams or the alert from the camera, links the generated description with an identifier of the captured video footage associated with the event, and stores the linked description and identifier to facilitate searching and retrieval of the captured video footage associated with the detected event.

摘要： The compositions and methods described herein discloses the design, synthesis and testing of compounds of formulae I or Ia that act as inhibitors of DHFR. The basic scaffold of these inhibitors includes a 2, 4-diaminopyrimidine ring with a propargyl linker to another substituted aryl, bicyclo or heteroaryl ring. These DHFR inhibitors are potent and selective for many different pathogenic organisms, including the DHFR enzyme from bacteria such as Bacillus anthracis and methicillin- resistant Staphylococcus aureus, fungi such as Candida glabrata, Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans and protozoa such as Cryptosporidium hominis and Toxoplasma gondii. These compounds and other similar compounds are also potent against the mammalian enzyme and may be useful as anti- cancer therapeutics.
