The feature extraction and mapping system maintains discriminative and informative characteristics of the object at the front end of feature extraction without increasing the computational and storage burden on the back end of object classification by mapping high-dimensional features into low-dimensional features.

摘要： Disclosed herein are techniques and systems for computing geodesic saliency of images using background priors. An input image may be segmented into a plurality of patches, and a graph associated with the image may be generated, the graph comprising nodes and edges. The nodes of the graph include nodes that correspond to the plurality of patches of the image plus an additional virtual background node that is added to the graph. The graph further includes edges that connect the nodes to each other, including internal edges between adjacent patches and boundary edges between those patches at the boundary of the image and the virtual background node. Using this graph, a saliency value, called the "geodesic" saliency, for each patch of the image is determined as a length of a shortest path from a respective patch to the virtual background node.

摘要： New carbon nanotube polymers and compositions are provided. The polymers comprise recurring blocks or units of carbon nanotubes and a compound other than a carbon nanotube. The compound is a polymeric or oligomeric block and is bonded to the carbon nanotube outer sidewall rather than to the carbon nanotube end, and is preferably a block copolymer of the compound and the carbon nanotube. The polymers can be used to prepare compositions that can be formed into products that are useful for building components present in airplanes.

摘要： Processes to make these composite materials or blends, and their shaped articles such as fibers, films and 3-D parts include mixing an acid intercalated SWNT-Rs with an acid soluble polymer and subjecting the resultant mixture to shear stresses. Composites and blends include loose single-walled carbon nanotube ropes (SWNT-Rs) and other acid-intercalatable carbon nanotube ropes with polymers such as aliphatic polyamides (nylon), aromatic polyamides (such as poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide, PPTA), or heterocyclic aromatic polymers (such as poly-p-phenylenebisbenzoxazole, PBO), or other materials which are soluble in common acidic media. Products such as fibers, films, and 3-dimensional articles are made from these materials.

摘要： A smart connector system includes a machine connector disposed on a face of a surgical machine, an illumination ring located on the face of the surgical machine and disposed around a periphery of the machine connector, an RFID reader antenna located in close proximity to the machine connector and the face of the surgical machine, and an accessory connector adapted to couple with the machine connector. The accessory connector has an RFID tag antenna and is capable of attaching a tool to the surgical machine. When the accessory connector is brought within close proximity to the machine connector, a communications connection is established between the RFID tag antenna and the RFID reader antenna.

摘要： Methods for preparing carbon nanotube layers are disclosed herein. Carbon nanotube layers may be films, ribbons, and sheets. The methods comprise preparing an aligned carbon nanotube array and compressing the array with a roller to create a carbon nanotube layer. Another method disclosed herein comprises preparing a carbon nanotube layer from an aligned carbon nanotube array grown on a grouping of lines of metallic catalyst. A composite material comprising at least one carbon nanotube layer and prepared by the process comprising a) compressing an aligned single-wall carbon nanotube array with a roller, and b) transferring the carbon nanotube layer to a polymer is also disclosed.
