    • The present disclosure provides methods for colorizing and/or standardizing a medical image, comprising, for example, the steps of (i) receiving, in an image processing unit, digital image data obtained by an image capture device, wherein the digital image data includes a medical image; (ii) analyzing the data with the image processing unit to identify a region of interest; (iii) segmenting said region of interest; (iv) obtaining a measure of the pixel intensities in the segmented region of interest; (v) selecting an optimized color spectrum from a plurality of color spectra using the result of the measure of the pixel intensities in the segmented region of interest; (vi) colorizing the digital image data by mapping the selected color spectrum to the region of interest; and (vii) displaying the colorized medical image.

    • Reversed phase solid silica gel sorbent layers which can adhere with appropriate binders to a solid surface were developed. Also described is a new chromatographic separating device (hereinafter Chromato Rotor) and a method for separation of constituents from natural products or mixture of organic compounds using a centrifugal preparative chromatographic instrument with a separating element which contains a binder free sorbent layer packed or loaded between tvvo supporting rotors and retained from moving outside by a porous filter. Only eluants pass through. ChromatoRotors with different sorbentswith different dimensions and capacity can be prepared and used for centrifugal chromatographic separation. Virtually any classes of organic compounds including very polar natural products can be separated or purified from a mixture by using these rotors due to the unlimited combination of sorbents and mixture of mobile phases, including but not limited to aqueous-based solvents. These plates can also be used for CPTLC using any appropriate device for Centrifugal Chromatography like Chromatotron® or Cyclograph® instruments.

    • A method for epitaxial growth of silicon carbide using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is provided. This method utilizes halogenated carbon precursors and control of the gas-phase interaction of halogen-containing intermediate chemical products involving silicon and carbon, which ensures quality and homogeneity across the silicon carbide crystals. It also ensures a possibility to achieve device-quality epitaxial layers at lower growth temperatures as well as on on-axis or low off-angle substrate surfaces. The growth method can be applied to forming SiC device regions of desirable shape and dimensions by restricting the growth into windows formed in non-silicon carbide region on the top of SiC substrate. Application of the methods described herein will greatly benefit the production of high quality silicon carbide materials and devices.
