摘要： A plastic foam molded body, in particular a plastic foam slab (2) made of pre-expanded granulated plastic foam is characterised in that it has a core (4) made of recycled used plastic foam which bears a covering layer (6) made of fresh, possibly different plastic foam material on at least one of its sides. In a process for producing such a plastic foam molded body (2), the core (4) is produced at first in an usual manner from recycled, ground plastic foam introduced into a molding cavity (12). The molding cavity is then enlarged to correspond to the profile of the envelope (6) at the same time as the core (4) is held in its final position with respect to the enlarged molding cavity. The enlarged molding cavity is filled with fresh prefoamed granulated raw plastic foam and said material is then set in the usual manner. The finished plastic foam molded body (2) is then removed from the mold. A device (10) for carrying out this process may have, besides two opposite molding walls (14, 16) movable towards each other, further molding walls (18, 20) which can be moved in and out in a sliding manner arranged at the periphery of the first molding walls and having a thickness which corresponds to the thickness of the wall of the covering layer (6) at that spot. The device may further have pin-shaped holding members (66) which may be moved out of the first molding walls (14, 16) and penetrate into the initially molded core (4), as well as plate-like positioning members (64) for laterally positioning the core with respect to said molding walls.

摘要： ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Process for processing expandable polymer particles e.g. polystyrene (EPS) that eliminates the maturing step between the pre-expander and molding steps. The expandable particles are first over pressurized with gas, e.g. air, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and mixtures thereof, at a pressure between 500 and 8000kPa and a temperature between -20°C and 130°C for 15 to 7200 minutes to create a gas pressure in the particles. Using the gas pressure in the particles, pre-expanding the particles with a heating medium, e.g. steam at a temperature between 100°C and 120°C and at a pressure ranging above atmospheric pressure and below the gas pressure in said particles, i.e. 50 to 200kPa for 5 to 120 seconds. The pre-expanded particles are air dried in the pre-expander while holding a positive pressure in the particles; are optionally transferred to a pressure silo; and then are transferred to a molding machine where the gas pressure in the particles is used to form a foam article.

摘要： The ejector system for multiple moulds, particularly for moulds for foamed plastics, comprises a plurality of mechanical ejectors with guided pushers which are pressure operable by an outer ejection cylinder (24). The ejectors are connected to a common ejection cylinder by a corresponding number of flexible rods guided in flexible tubes (20). To this aim, the flexible rods form themselves the pushers. They may be guided outside through a heating and/or cooling chamber (8). The ejection cylinder (24) may be arranged anywhere or at a distance from the mould and may be a single or double action cylinder. Thereby, all or some of the ejectors may also be integrated in the filling injectors of the corresponding mould.
