    • The present invention relates to a system and method for avoiding concurrent calls. Specifically, the method of the present invention includes: confirming, at a terminal device, a connected state of a voice call or a data call at a specific point in time before a transmitting period of a motion maintaining message assigned to a specific application; transferring, to a server device, the motion maintaining message through the data call according to the confirmed connected state of the voice call or the data call to notify the server device of a driving state of the specific application; and transferring, via the server device to the terminal device, a response message with respect to the motion maintaining message transferred from the terminal device. Thus, concurrent calls or multi-RAB states in which voice calls and data calls are concurrently made may be minimized, and data call connection attempts may also be minimized.
