    • The present invention relates to a gasket (1) which is suitable for the seal between two components. This periodic structure (12) is embossed in the gasket layer (2) in such a manner that the total thickness of the gasket layer (2) in the region of the periodic structure (12) is greater than the material thickness of the gasket layer (2).
