摘要： A method is disclosed for preparing an elastomeric base composition comprising: (I) mixing (A) a fluorocarbon elastomer with (B) a compatibilizer, (C) an optional catalyst, (II) mixing the product of step (I) with (D) a silicone base comprising a curable organopolysiloxane, (E), an optional crosslinking agent, (F) a cure agent in an amount sufficient to cure said organopolysiloxane; and (III) dynamically vulcanizing the organopolysiloxane, wherein the weight ratio of fluorocarbon elastomer (A) to silicone base (B) in the elastomeric base composition ranges from 95:5 to 30:70. The cured rubber compositions obtained from the elastomeric base compositions herein have good fuel resistance properties.

摘要： Thermoplastic elastomers are disclosed which are prepared by; (I) mixing, (A) a thermoplastic resin comprising more than 50 percent by volume of a polyamide or a polyester resin, (B) a silicone bas comprising; (B') 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane gum having a plasticity of at least 30 and having an average of at least 2 alkenyl groups per molecule and (B'') 5 to 200 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, wherein the weight ratio of said silicone base to said polyamide or polyester resin is from 35:65 to 85:15, (C) a compatibilizer, (D) a radical initiator, present in an amount sufficient to cure said diorganopolysiloxane gum, and optionally (E) a stabilizer, (II) dynamically vulcanizing said diorganopolysiloxanes gum, wherein at least one property of the thermoplastic elastomer selected from tensile strength or elongation is at least 25 % greater than the respective property for a corresponding simple blend wherein said diorganopolysiloxane is not cured and said thermoplastic elastomer has an elongation of at least 25 %.

摘要： Fluoroplastics containing fluorocarbon resins and silicones are prepared by first mixing a fluorocarbon resin with a compatibilizer, then adding a curable organopolysiloxane with a radical initiator, and vulcanizing the organopolysiloxane in the mixture. The fluoroplastics can be processed by various techniques, such as extrusion, vacuum forming, injection molding, blow molding or compression molding, to fabricate plastic parts. The resulting fabricated parts can be re-processed (recycled) with little or no degradation of mechanical properties.

摘要： This invention relates to a flame retardant composition comprising: (a) 81 to 99.99 weight percent of a thermoplastic resin, thermoset resin, thermoplastic resin blend, or thermoset resin blend which upon burning forms a char and (b) 0.01-19 weight percent of a silsesquioxane resin having a weight average molecular weight of greater than 300 and having the average molecular formula: (R 3 SiO 1/2 ) a (R 2 SiO 2/2 ) b (RSiO 3/2 ) c (SiO 4 / 2 ) d (RO 1/2 ) e (OH 1/2 ) f wherein each R is hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or an aryl group having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, a and b are zero or positive numbers and the value of a+b is greater than zero, c is a positive number, d, e and f are zero or positive numbers with the provisos that the copolymer comprises at least 40 mole percent of RsiO 3/2 units, the copolymer comprises less than 10 mole percent SiO 4/2 units, greater than 30 mole percent of the silicon-bonded R groups are silicon-bonded aryl groups, greater than 0.5 mole percent of the silicon-bonded R groups are silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, the content of silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups is equal to or less than 2 weight percent, and the content of silicon-bonded alkoxy groups where the alkoxy group is methoxy or ethoxy is equal to or less than 5 weight percent.
