    • Process for producing an energy cable comprising at least one electrically conductive core and at least one thermoplastic electrically insulating layer, which comprises the steps of: impregnating a thermoplastic material in subdivided solid form, having a melting enthalpy equal to or lower than 70 J/g, with a dielectric fluid to obtain an impregnated thermoplastic material; feeding said impregnated thermoplastic material in subdivided solid form to a single-screw extruder; and extruding the impregnated thermoplastic material onto said at least one electrically conductive core, so as to form said at least one thermoplastic electrically insulating layer; whereby said impregnated thermoplastic material is not subjected to any mechanical homogenization step in a molten state. The above process allows to obtain energy cables having a large amount of the dielectric fluid in the electrically insulting layer, e.g. higher than 10 wt%, without showing any morphological defects in the layer itself and any drawbacks in the extrusion process, even when the rotation speed of the extruder screw and therefore the cable production speed are high (e.g. higher than 20 m/min for medium voltage cable).

    • A synthetic material is disclosed, which is constituted by a copolymer of D, L-lactide and epsilon -caprolactone (which itself is characterised by lower degradation times than those obtainable with copolymers of L-lactic acid and epsilon -caprolactone), obtained by using as reaction control agent a sugar dianhydride with non-toxic characteristics. The use of sugar dianhydride in the reaction has a considerable control effect on the molecular weight of the copolymer and, thanks to its low molecular weight, this copolymer is characterised by extremely short resorption times, in the order for example of one or two months. The copolymer is used as covering element to be placed around tendon sutures and/or nerve tracts with the aim of preventing formation of scarry adherences between the suture lines and the soft surrounding tissues.

    • A process of surface activation of a material based on one or more of the copolymers of lactic acid and epsilon -caprolactone is carried out on bioabsorbable and biocompatible aliphatic polyesters chosen from the group formed by homo- and copolymers derived from L-lactide, D-lactide, racemic D,L-lactide, meso D,L-lactide, epsilon -caprolactone, glycolide, delta -valerolactone, p-dioxanone, preferably copolymers of L-lactide, D-lactide, racemic D,L-lactide, meso D,L-lactide with epsilon -caprolactone; the process consists of performing at least one of the following treatments: acid or base hydrolysis, treatment by means of cold plasma, by chemical reactions or electromagnetic radiations. This can in many cases favour cellular adherence to bioabsorbable medical prostheses realised using these materials, and thus surface-activated, such as for example endothelialisation processes in vascular grafts.
