    • The present invention relates to an optical transmission and receiving device for implementing a passive alignment of components and a method for passively aligning the components, and more specifically, to an optical transmission and receiving device and a passive alignment method, in which optical element units (111) and a lens optical fiber connection unit (120) are passively aligned by using a standard alignment unit (115) that is disposed on a substrate (110). For the passive alignment of the components, connection pillars (115b) of the standard alignment unit (115) are combined with substrate holes (114), a light emitting element (111a) and a light receiving element (111b) are aligned side by side at certain intervals on the basis of alignment holes (115a) that are disposed on said standard alignment unit (115) by opposing each other, and the lens optical fiber connection unit (120) is aligned on the basis of said alignment holes (115a), and then an optical fiber (133) is aligned by setting a surface (122b) of a prism that constitutes said lens optical fiber connection unit (120), to an optical alignment point. Further, said optical fiber (133) has been fixed by an optical fiber pin (131) and then covered by a metal case (143) coupled with a case fixing pin (141). The optical transmission and receiving device for implementing the passive alignment of the components minimizes alignment errors by performing multi-channel optical alignments in a passive and simple manner, and miniaturizes and simplifies a structure of an optical module and minimizes the number of the components, thereby lowering the price of the optical module.
