摘要： The present invention provides processes for removing nitrogen species from fresh water or high salinity water recirculated aquaculture systems. The processes are based on physico-chemical treatments which are performed at ambient temperatures and at low p H values thus keeping the total ammonia nitrogen concentrations below a value which is considered detrimental for the growth or survival rate of cultured fish/shrimp.

摘要： A process for treating water includes adding magnetite seed to water containing dissolved ferrous and/or non-ferrous metals, to form seeded water. If necessary, ferrous iron is added to the water, and the pH of the seeded water is raised to a level at which a solid ferrous intermediate forms, or is present, in the seeded water and/or the water is maintained at such a pH level. The resultant seeded ferrous intermediate-containing water is subjected to controlled oxidation of the ferrous intermediate at substantially ambient temperature to produce, as an oxidation product, ferrite(s) comprising magnetite. At least a predetermined or threshold ferrous intermediate concentration is maintained in the water during the controlled oxidation of the water. Ferrite is separated from the water.

摘要： A method and a system for production of divalent ion supplemented water, in particular Mg2+ supplemented water, said system comprising a desalination unit (DU), at least one divalent ion separation unit (SU) and three junctions placed as follows: a first and a second junction on the input line to the desalination system and a third junction on the desalination outlet line, the second junction being positioned between the first junction and the desalination unit. The system is configured to: - split, at the first junction, salty water ded via the system inlet line such that one part is provided to the DU and an another part is provided to at least one SU via at least one separator inlet line; - add, at the second junction, permeate from at least one SU outlet to the salty water fed via the first junction, thereby producing the DU salty water, and - add, at the third junction, brine from at least one SU reject line to the desalinated water, thereby producing the divalent ion supplemented water. A method of intentional struvite precipitation for phosphate recovery from wastewater is also disclosed, said method comprising adding brine produced from the SU according to said divalent ion production method to wastewater.

摘要： An H2S04-based calcite dissolution post-treatment process and apparatii for desalinated water are provided. The process comprises separating cations from seawater by ion exchange resin (s) (12) onto which the ions are loaded, contacting the ion exchange resin (s) (12) loaded with the cations with an effluent (1) of a calcite dissolution reactor (10) wherein the cations are exchanged with Ca2+ from this effluent. The Ca2+ concentration of the resulting desalinated water (6) decreases while the cations concentration increases to comply with required quality criteria. Batch type and continuous apparatii by which the process can be carried out are described.
