    • The invention relates to a process for correcting measurement errors of a hot-film device for measuring air masses, in particular for determining the mass of combustion air in an internal combustion engine. To ensure error-free measurement, a first value (23) of the air mass is determined by hot-film device for measuring air masses and a second value (24) of the air mass is determined by a second, independent process ( alpha /n process). The two values (23, 24) are used alternatively as valid quantities, in function of the operating ranges which govern the accuracy of measurement, and in at least one backflow-free operating range a correction signal (KH) is derived by comparing the first value (23) and the second value (24) and used to correct the second value (24) in operating ranges in which backflow occurs.
