The cap (215) covers the end surface (216) of the jewel (214) which is opposed to the rotor (21) from an outer circumferential side thereof, and forms an annular groove (G3) for a lubricating oil between an inner circumferential surface thereof and an outer circumferential surface of the shaft (211). Accordingly, even when the rotor (21) is rotated at a high speed, the lubricating oil does not scatter from the annular groove (G3) to the surrounding area. This enables various parts to be arranged close to one another, thereby making the electronic timepiece thinner.
