摘要： A rotor assembly for counting sheets in a stack has a support (18) on which is rotatably mounted a rotor (22) such that the rotor engages an edge region of the stack. The rotor has a plurality of helical transfer grooves (45) through which sheets are transferred one at a time from one side of the rotor to the other. A foot (21) bears on the rotor (12) and has a port which, as the rotor rotates, comes into and out of communication with further ports on the rotor each leading to a respective groove (45), whereby air is drawn in a timed relationship through the rotor to assist the transfer of sheets through the helical grooves (45). The rotor (12) is movable axially with respect to its support (18) and there is a detector arranged to detect the position of the foot (21) with respect to the support (18) thereby to give an output (31) indicative of the position of the rotor (12) with respect to the support (18).

摘要： Apparatus arranged to insert a tab between two sheets of a stack of paper, to serve as a marker, has a driven roller (24) and a pinch roller (26) with the tape (12) extending therebetween. The pinch roller (26) is mounted on a rocker arm (25) having at its other end a stud (27), the arm (25) being spring urged to engage the stud (27) with the tape. When the tape is to be fed, the rocker arm is pivoted to release the brake effect of the stud (27) and engage the pinch roller (26) with the drive roller (24). The arm is mounted on a housing (14) which may be pivoted away from the tape path to facilitate tape loading or the clearing of a jam. A rotary cutter assembly (34) is mounted downstream of the drive roller (24), the cutter assembly having a bar (35) mounted for rotation within a sleeve (37), the bar having a transverse slot (36) through which the tape passes. The downstream edge of the slot (36) co-operates with an edge of the sleeve (37) to provide a shearing action on rotation of the sleeve.

摘要： A counter for counting the number of sheets in a stack has a rotor (12) which engages in an edge region of the stack and transfers sheets one at a time from one side of the rotor to the other upon rotor rotation. The rotor (12) is mounted on a shaft (13) carried by a carriage (36) arranged for sliding movement on guides (41). A motor (44) drives a lead screw (43), whereby the carriage is driven along the guides. The rotor (12) may float on its shaft (13) and its position is sensed by detector (39, 40); the output of the detector is used to control motor (44) whereby the carriage is driven substantially continuously and smoothly at a rate appropriate for a counting operation being performed.
