摘要： A refractory lining is formed in a furnace (40) by providing a carrier (20) for a lining form (10) which has dimensions that provide a uniform space for the introduction of refractory material (50) when the lining form (10) is concentrically located within the furnace (40). The carrier (20) concentrically engages and is attached to the lining form (10), and includes a portion that engages the furnace (40) and locates the carrier (20) and the lining form (10), when attached, concentrically within the furnace (40) to provide a uniform space therebetween. The carrier (20) can also have an upper surface that slopes downwardly from adjacent its center to its periphery to convey particulate refractory material (50) poured onto the surface into the space between the lining form (10) and the furnace (40). Further, a fixture is provided to hold the lining form (10) concentric while the particulate refractory material (50) is compacted by vibration.
