    • A stay is provided which comprises a first part (12) including a base (16) for attachment to a wing or to the frame surrounding the wing and an elongate internally threaded tube (24) which is attached to the base (16) in such manner as to be free to pivot with respect to the base. The stay further comprises a second part (14) including a rod (58) with threading compatible with that of the tube (24). A locking element (50) with a circumferential groove is attached to and protrudes transversely from the rod (58) and there is a cylindrical element (40) forming part of a base (34) for attachment to the wing or frame. There is first bore in the element (40) for receiving the element (50) and a threaded second bore intersecting the first bore for receiving a cap screw which enters the groove to prevent withdrawal of the element (50) from the first bore. The second bore is closed by a disc (62) with an Allen key hole opening (64) in it through which the capscrew can be turned.

    • A capsule is disclosed comprising a side wall of truncated conical form bounding an internal space for receiving coffee.     • Valves (110) and other apparatus, methods of moulding and moulds (112) are provided for the moulding of materials such as injection or injection-compression moulding of molten thermoplastic materials. The valve includes a valve element/piston (126) that is orientated at 60 degrees relative to the mould's bounding wall (116) and that can reciprocate in a barrel (122) and that can rotate. The piston (126) has a leading face (128) that is also orientated at 60 degrees, so that the flow passage/melt channel (118) extends past the leading face (128) when the valve (110) is open and the leading face (128) forms part of the bounding wall of the mould cavity (114) when the valve is closed. The piston (126) is advanced or retracted a very short distance and is rotated through 180 degrees, to open and close the valve (110). The other apparatus include multiple flow passage and valve elements that feed single or multiple mould cavities to allow improved moulding of articles in conventional injection moulding machines through multiple flow passages.

    • An airway device (10) is provided for sealing a patient's pharynx (P), the device comprising an elongate flexible chamber (12) of resilient material with a leading end (14) and a trailing end (16) and being bounded by top (18) and bottom (19) elongate surfaces.     • An engine (10) and a method of operating the engine are provided. The engine (10) includes a gas turbine (20) and fan (40) that rotate together to provide an exhaust gas flow stream, which flows over a free turbine (46) that is connected to a power take-off (56). The free turbine (46) can extract energy from the exhaust gas flow stream and transfer it as shaft power to the power take-off (56) and the amount of energy extracted by the free turbine is controlled by varying the pitch of the free turbine's blades and/or by varying the pitch or stator vanes of a stator (50) upstream of the free turbine. The control over the amount of energy extracted by the free turbine (46) allows the engine (10) to be used to provide thrust from the gas turbine (20) and fan (40) or to provide shaft power at the power take-off (56), or a combination of thrust and shaft power.
