摘要： Compositions containing polymers and one or more heat labile and/or incompatible components adsorbed on carrier materials are provided. The heat labile components include materials that are inactivated, that volatilize, decompose, or undergo a chemical reaction or transformation at the polymer's processing temperatures (heat labile biocides). Incompatible components are materials that generally react or form gels or precipitates upon mixing. The carrier materials generally include inorganic or organic porous materials capable of remaining solid during processing temperatures. Methods for preparing the polymer compositions are provided.

摘要： Biodegradable graft copolymers derived from a carbohydrate, including nitrogen- containing carbohydrates and modified carbohydrates, and at least one α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having superabsorbent properties are disclosed in addition to the substantially adiabatic polymerization process by which the graft copolymers are made. The methods disclosed can be carried out in a variety of currently available stirred and/or continuous commercial reactors. Polymerizations carried out with starch have surprisingly produced substantially quantitative yields of graft copolymer free of residual monomer produced as a moist copolymer. Product work-up typically involves an optional neutralization and drying.

摘要： An integrated lean bum stabilizer (ILBS) for initiating combustion in an internal combustion engine by generating and introducing active free radicals into a combustion chamber is provided. Engines equipped with the ILBS can achieve a fuel efficient clean combustion processes with a lean and/or diluted mixture otherwise incapable of auto ignition and provide a controlled start of combustion, in conjunction with early in-cylinder direct injection, late diesel-like in-cylinder direct injection, and mixed fuel functions allowing control of the composition and stratification of the mixture. Controlled aspects of the fuel mixture include the equivalent ratio and fuel reactivity combinations inside the main combustion chamber.
