    • A grate plate is provided for use with a pulp lifter at a discharge end of a grinding mill. The grate plate has an outer edge, an inner edge, a leading side edge and a trailing side edge. The leading side edge and the trailing side edge have complementary shapes so that a series of grate plates can be mounted to the pulp lifter in a circular or annular array, with the leading side edge of each grate plate being adjacent the trailing side edge of an adjacent grate plate in the array. The grate plate comprises openings for passing through ground material particles of a predetermined size or smaller from the interior of the drum towards the pulp lifter. The grate plate further comprises, on a surface configured to face the interior of the cylindrical drum, one or more sections of lifter bars arranged so that the lifter bar sections on a number of adjacent grate plates complement each other to form lifter bars, wherein the lifter bar sections are shaped so that at least portions of the resulting lifter bars are inclined or curved in a first circumferential direction of the circular or annular array relative to a radial line of the array intersecting the respective lifter bar or lifter bar portion. At least portions of the complementary leading and trailing side edges of the grate plate are inclined or curved in a second circumferential direction of the array relative to a radial line of the array running through the point of intersection of the respective side edge with the outer edge. The second circumferential direction is opposite the first circumferential direction.

    • Provided is an aerosol generation device (1), comprising an outer body (10); an opening (11) accessible on the outer body (10) and configured to receive a consumable article (2), wherein the opening (11) is configured to generate a friction sound when a consumable article (2) including embossed features (21) on its wrapper (20), the embossed features (21) preferably containing information about the consumable article (2), slides on the opening into the aerosol generation device; a sensor (12) configured to detect the friction sound; and a controller (13) configured to analyze the friction sound and identify the consumable article (2) based on the friction sound. Provided is further a consumable article (2) for an aerosol device (1), wherein the consumable article (2) is configured to be slid into an opening (11) of an aerosol generation device (1), and the consumable article (2) preferably includes embossed features (21) on its wrapper (20) and the embossed features (21) contain information about the consumable article (2). Provided is furthermore a method (preferably a computer-implemented method) executed by an aerosol generation device of identifying a consumable article inserted into the aerosol generation device, the method comprising the steps of: detecting a friction sound generated when the consumable article including embossed features on its wrapper, the embossed features preferably containing information about the consumable article, is slid on the opening into the aerosol generation device; analyzing the friction sound; and identifying the consumable article based on the friction sound, as well as a corresponding computer program.

    • Eine Tauchsonde (1) zur quantitativen und/oder qualitativen Analyse eines Fluids (F), z.B. einer Flüssigkeit oder eines Gases, mithilfe von Licht, das entlang eines Lichtpfads (L) durch das Fluid (F) hindurchgeführt wird, umfasst einen Messkopf (10), der zum Eintauchen in das Fluid geeignet ist, mit einem Eingangslichtleiter (14) für das zum Fluid (F) geführte Licht, der mit einer Lichtquelle verbindbar ist, und einem Ausgangslichtleiter (15) für das aus dem Fluid (F) geführte Licht, der mit einem Detektor verbindbar ist, einem ersten und zweiten optischen Fenster, deren einander zugewandte Flächen mit dem Fluid in Kontakt stehen, und mindestens einer Lichtumlenkeinrichtung (17, 18), die im Lichtpfad des aus dem Eingangslichtleiter (14) austretenden bzw. in den Ausgangslichtleiter (15) eintretenden Lichts angeordnet ist und das aus dem Eingangslichtleiter (14) kommende Licht durch das erste optische Fenster in das Fluid bzw. das aus dem Fluid kommende Licht zum Ausgangslichtleiter (15) umlenkt. Die Tauchsonde ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das erste und zweite optische Fenster (20, 21) zueinander keilförmig angeordnet sind und ihre zum Keilinneren weisenden Oberflächen (20a, 21a) dem zu analysierenden Fluid (F) zugewandt sind, wobei die mindestens eine Lichtumlenkeinrichtung (17, 18) und die optischen Fenster (20, 21) relativ zueinander im Wesentlichen in Richtung der Keilöffnung hin- und her beweglich sind.
