摘要： A wine bottle is provided with a punt at a lower end which includes a cork retainer therein. A cork which closes an opening at an upper end of the bottle, can thus be stored within the cork retainer in the punt of the bottle, when not in use closing the opening. In one embodiment, the cork retainer includes two retainer surfaces which are opposing each other horizontally, and spaced apart by a length similar to opposing portions of the cork to allow the cork to fit tightly between these retainer surfaces. Space above the retainer surfaces can hold a foil wrap with the cork within the cork retainer and holding the foil wrap in place. The cork and foil can thus remain with the bottle before, during and after use. Full re-use of the bottle is thus facilitated.

摘要： A plate within the valve pivots about a shaft to cause the plate to transition between an open position and a closed position within a bore passing through the housing of the valve. The plate has a perimeter seal thereon which abuts against a tapering seat of the bore when the throttle plate is in a closed orientation. The seal has a curving form over a recess and an energy source, such as the toroidal spring in the recess, to energize the seal and allow it to maintain secure contact against the seat. The shaft is offset from the centerline of the bore and the plate is mounted to the shaft at a location offset from the center point of the plate, so that rotation of the plate causes the plate to swing somewhat into a closed position, minimizing abrasive contact between the seat and seal during closing.

摘要： In a dropped ceiling assembly system elements are provided which include an elongate planar shelf held below an elongate spine. The shelf has lateral edges which can support edges of a ceiling tile resting thereon. This spine is configured to be held in position either adjacent to spines of other elements within a dropped ceiling or from above, such as by suspension wires passing through suspension holes in the spine. A compartment is provided on an underside of the shelf which is sized and shaped to receive and hold at least a portion of a loudspeaker therein. The loudspeaker mounting system is thus integrated into the shelf which also acts to hold ceiling tiles within a dropped ceiling.

摘要： The air separation unit includes a single adsorption bed downstream of a reversing blower and configured to operate on the principle of vacuum swing adsorption. An optimal ambient air pressure to vacuum pressure ratio within an adsorber vessel downstream of the reversible blower is identified. When the air separation unit is operated at ambient conditions where ambient air pressure is different, such as at higher altitude (or lower altitude) a pressure ratio across the blower when drawing a vacuum on the adsorption bed is maintained for optimal blower power to oxygen production performance. Time for recovery of the adsorption bed can also be modified due to the lower absolute pressure achieved within the adsorption bed when the pressure ratio across the blower is maintained. An ASU is thus provided which is optimized for performance at various different altitudes without requiring modification of equipment within the ASU.

摘要： The bedpan liner includes multiple planar flexible layers of material with an underliner layer underlying a top layer. The underliner layer is substantially waterproof and the top layer is porous and preferably soft. An absorbent medium can be interposed between the top layer and the underliner layer, preferably confined to a central portion of the liner. A perimeter of the bedpan liner includes a drawstring associated therewith for gathering of the perimeter together after patient elimination thereon. In use, the bedpan liner is placed over a bedpan with central portions thereof tucked into a cavity of the bedpan and perimeter portions of the liner upon a structure on which the bedpan rests. A patient then eliminates waste into the bedpan and upon the liner. The drawstring of the liner is then pulled tight to capture the patient waste therein and the liner is removed from the bedpan.

摘要： A truss for a flying vehicle supports a pair of wings in a manner which facilitates pivoting of the wings between a deployed configuration and a retracted configuration. The truss includes parallel top and bottom plates with the gap therebetween. The wings have wing brackets affixed thereto with the wing brackets pivotably supported by hinge assemblies to the top plate and bottom plate of the truss. Latch assemblies can be selectively actuated to secure the wing brackets and associated wings to the truss in either the deployed configuration or the retracted configuration, so that loads between the wings and the truss are primarily carried through the latch assemblies rather than through the hinge assemblies. A hinge position on the truss and on the wing brackets is selected to maximize wing length tip to tip while minimizing an outline required for the vehicle when the wings are fully retracted.

摘要： The pre-cooler includes one or more cells which are oriented about an air stream to be cooled. A housing defines a perimeter of the cell with an inlet and outlet for air passing therethrough. Water outlet nozzles within the housing are preferably supported upon bars which orient the nozzles facing in a direction counter to flow of air through the housing. Each nozzle is coupled to a separate stage with multiple stages of nozzles coupled to separate valves. A controller opens or closes different valves. The controller measures ambient humidity and temperature conditions as well as air flow rates to calculate the amount of water to be added to the air and then opens appropriate numbers of stages of valvesso that an appropriate number of nozzles spray water into the air to saturate the air. Flow rate control is thus provided without pressure variations,for optimal nozzle performance.
