    • Techniques for securing and authenticating asynchronous messages using a key manager are provided. A first component sending an asynchronous message to a second component may identify itself to a key manager by a private key and may receive an encrypted signing key from the key manager. The first component may then hash message content, encrypt the hashed message content using the signing key, and send the encrypted result along with the original message content to the receiving component via asynchronous messaging. The receiving component, which may obtain a symmetric signing key from the key manager or from local storage, may decrypt the received encrypted result using the symmetric signing key, and may hash the received original message content using the same hashing algorithm as the sending component; if the two results match, the receiving component may determine that the message is authentic and uncorrupted.

    • A computing platform configured to receive and process an on-demand real-time patient- specific data analysis order is provided. The computing platform can receive an order, determine the viability of the order, and then perform the desired analysis based on parameters provided within the order. As part of the analysis, the computing platform can mine one or more data sources to collect data relevant to the ordered diagnostic. Once the data is collected, the computing platform can analyze the data according to one or more pre-programmed algorithms. The selection of which algorithms to apply to the data set can be determined by the type of on- demand real-time patient-specific data analysis ordered. The on-demand real-time patient- specific data analysis in some examples can be ordered using an external ordering user interface.

    • Systems and methods for performing genomic information compression, transmission, and decompression are provided. A system for compression, transmission, and decompression of genomic information includes a first computer associated with a first index and a second computer associated with a second index, each index containing reference permutations of nucleic acid sequence portions, each permutation associated with a reference number. The first computer uses input genomic information and the first index to produce a compressed representation of the genomic information, and transmits the compressed representation to the second computer. The second computer uses the compressed representation and the second index to assemble a data representation of the genomic information. The compressed representation comprises references to permutations, indications of locations of each permutation in the input information, indications of variations to permutations, and/or indications of sequence length.
