    • An externally-oriented internally-corrected perforating gun system and method for accurate perforation in a deviated wellbore is disclosed. The system/method includes a gun string assembly (GSA) deployed in a wellbore with an external protuberance member (EPM) and an internal pivot support (IPS). With the EPM oriented to the high side of the wellbore, the center of mass of the GSA positions the GSA at the lower side of the wellbore surface. The IPS is attached to internal gun components such end plate, charge holder tube, detonating cord or charge case. The charges inside the charge holder tube move with the gravitational vector about the IPS and point more accurately in the desired direction for perforating. The external orientation of the EPM along with limited internal swing about the IPS provide for an accurate orientation of the charges that results in efficient and effective perforating through a hydrocarbon formation.

    • A hydraulic time delay system and method in a wellbore tool is disclosed. The system/method includes an actuation mechanism which allows pressure to act on a functional piston in the wellbore tool. The movement of the piston is restrained by a partially or filled reservoir which is allowed to exhaust through a flow restriction element. The restriction element comprises standard metal tubing with a known inner diameter and is cut to an exact length as predicted by fluid dynamic modeling. A time delay and rate of piston movement desired for the downhole tool, between a trigger event such as pressure and a functional event, can be tuned with parameters that include the length and diameter of the tubing, reservoir fluid viscosity and number of tubes in parallel. In another embodiment, a secondary plugging element added to the reservoir controls the rate of piston movement and time delay.

    • The present invention provides a self-adjusting fluid pump that includes a piston pump containing at least one piston with a pressure sensor. The fluid pump also includes at least one fluid-containing pump chamber within the piston pump, adjacent to said piston, wherein advancing the piston causes fluid to flow from the pump chamber to a biological destination, and retracting the piston causes fluid to passively fill the pump chamber. A microprocessor uses data from the piston pressure sensor to calculate the rate of fluid output flow from the pump chamber for each pump cycle and compares the output flow rate to a pre-specified value range. If the output flow rate deviates from the prc-specified value range, the microprocessor adjusts the fluid output flow of the piston pump in order to bring the output flow rate within the pre-specified value range. The adjustment can be made by increasing or decreasing stroke rate (piston velocity), stroke volume, or a combination of both.

    • The present invention provides a fluid pump for medical applications. The invention comprises a flexible cassette containing two pump chambers, wherein the first pump chamber is larger than the second pump chamber. The pump includes two pistons, one for each pump chamber. The first piston pushes fluid from the first chamber to the second, and the second piston pushes fluid from the second chamber downstream out of the pump. Three valves are coordinated with the action of the pistons to control fluid flow into and out of the pump chambers by applying and releasing pressure to and from specific points of the flexible cassette. A control system controls the operation of the pistons and valves and directs the pistons to be advanced according to a time-varying velocity profile. The first pump chamber passively fills and then rapidly expels the collected fluid into the second chamber at low pressure. The second chamber, once filled, expels the fluid downstream at high pressure, producing a pulsatile pressure profile downstream.

    • An internet search utility that combines and presents search results from disparate data sources to the user in a multi-view format. The search terms are disambiguated and a series of prioritized Views is displayed to the user in a View Mix interface. Each View includes a unique interface, processing widgets, and a unique combination of data sources. A View Picker determines, based on specific criteria, which Views are relevant and prioritizes the Views for the View Mix. As the user considers which View to select, the Pre-Caching Module conducts a background search, and preloads snapshots of top URLs for display. Selecting a particular View initiates a search per the instructions of that view. The resulting data is displayed in the View format. Views may be created by third parties or end users to reflect any particular preference thus yielding a multitude of unique views from which to consume search results.
