摘要： Mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions, methods of making the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions, and methods of using the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer compositions are provided. The mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an epoxide composition to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the mercaptan-hardened epoxy polymer. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters, and crosslinked thiol esters. Adhesive polymer compositions, methods of making the adhesive polymer compositions, and methods of using the adhesive polymer compositions are provided. The adhesive polymer composition can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an epoxide composition to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the adhesive polymer composition.

摘要： Thiol ester compositions, methods of making the thiol ester compositions, and methods of using the thiol ester compositions are provided. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters and cross-linked thiol esters. The thiol ester composition can be used to produce cross-linked thiol esters, sulfonic acid-containing esters, sulfonate containing esters and thiocrylates containing esters. The thiol ester composition can be used to produce polythiourethanes. The polythiourethanes can be used in fertilizers and fertilizer coatings.

A piling is embedded in the sea floor. A socket at the counterweight telescopingly slides over the upper end of the piling to prevent lateral movement of the platform. A dampening chamber is located between the socket and the piling. Ports for the chamber are arranged to allow a faster downward movement of the piling than upward movement.

摘要： A preform for structural joints has a three-dimensional weave architecture with fill fibers woven to provide layer-to-layer interlocking of layers of warp fiber as well as interlocking of fibers within each layer. At least two legs extend from a base, the base and legs each having at least two layers of warp fibers. The legs are connected at a symmetrical, distributed-column intersection, with an odd number of columns of warp fibers being located being the legs. The outer ends of the base and legs preferably have tapers formed from terminating layers of warp fibers in a stepped pattern. Tracer fibers that include a colored strand and an x-ray opaque strand are woven into the preform at selected locations as a warp fiber. The tracer fibers allow for identification of a selected location or a selected portion of the preform through visual inspection or by x-ray image.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a fatty amide (meth)acrylate monomer, methods of making the monomer, and latex polymers comprising the fatty amide (meth)acrylate monomer. The monomers are derived by reacting unsaturated vegetable oils with ethanolamine or substituted ethanolamine. The vegetable oil derivative is then reacted with either (meth)acryloyl chloride or (meth)acrylic acid to form a fatty amide (meth)acrylate monomer or the product of the reaction of hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate reacted with isophorone diisocyanate to form a urethane fatty amide (meth)acrylate monomer. The increased hydrophilicity of the fatty amide (meth)acrylate monomer facilitates the diffusion through the aqueous phase. The monomer synthesis is designed to be glycerol ester-free to increase long term stability for monomers and polymers.

The Raman probe or other spectroscopic probes can be used to obtain spectroscopic measurements of the contents of the conduits. The spectroscopic measurements can be processed and analyzed to determine the composition of the conduit contents. In addition, the spectroscopic measurements can be used in conjunction with correlations or other statistical models to determine one or more properties of interest of a constituent of the conduit contents. One or more processes upstream and/or downstream of the conduit can be adjusted in response to the determined composition or composition properties.
